Purchase Ledger Clerk

Major Recruitment Oldbury are delighted to be exclusively recruiting for a dynamic and expanding organisation that are located on the outskirts of Halesowen.

Please note this role will be office based during the first three months with potential for hybrid at a later date.

Duties and tasks will include:

  • Managing the purchase ledger using purchase invoice scanning system
  • Responsibility for the prompt and accurate input of invoices once authorised
  • 3 way matching invoices to orders and receipts
  • Complete supplier statement reconciliation
  • Reconcile and post staff expenses and credit cards
  • Managing and resolving supplier queries
  • Help develop the OCR system by actively correcting miscoding
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date systems – investigating any discrepancies
  • Raising payments and paying suppliers on time utilising bank software and producing weekly payment runs for review
  • Support with other finance duties as required

Candidates welcome to apply for the role will have the following:

  • Proficiency with computers and accounting software
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel skills
  • An inquisitive approach to work with strong attention for detail
  • The ability to interrogate business systems and rectify errors
  • Familiarity with basic accounting principles
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • The ability to explain information in a clear and understandable manner to non-finance professionals
  • Strong team player with a willingness to assist and learn from colleagues
  • Ability to work in a changing and flexible organisation

Hours of work are Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm. Parking is available
