Process Worker

Major Recruitment have a fantastic opportunity to join our client as Process Worker at their site on the outskirts of Perth. This is a great time to come on board as the company are continually evolving their brand.

Working Pattern – 4 on 4 off

Hours or Work – 6am to 6pm

Payrate: £11.44

Duration: Temporary, moving to permanent after 12 weeks for the successful candidate.

Due to location, candidates would need to have their own transport.

Role Overview

Reporting to the Supervisor, your role as a Process Worker will be to carry out general process activities which include packing, inspecting of product prior to packing, labelling. Attention to detail is essential.

Duties and Responsibilities

Process

  • Inspection of finished product on picking table.
  • Maintain food safety, legality, product integrity and quality at all times.
  • Packing bags into cardboard boxes.
  • Constructing cardboard boxes and lids.
  • Labelling finished goods.
  • Record all data accurately and ensure paperwork is collated and passed onto shift leader at end of shift.
  • Keep all workstations clean and tidy at all times.
  • Carry out any reasonable management request.
  • Report any physical, chemical or microbiological contamination of finished product or raw materials. Or out of specification product.

Health Safety and Food Hygiene

  • Work in a safe and hygienic manner.
  • Participate in weekly rotas, ensuring all machinery and fabrications are cleaned to required levels.
  • Ensure all COSHH and Health and Safety regulations are adhered to.
  • You must ensure you wear the appropriate PPE at all times.
  • You are responsible for keeping your work areas clean and tidy at all times.
  • Be proactive during change overs, be vigilant in ensuring all raw materials are stored away tidily
  • You are responsible for your own safety as well as other working in your areas.

Managing Relationships

  • Attend, participate and contribute to meetings ensuring appropriate up to date

information is communicated and acted upon.

  • Develop and maintain relationships within other areas within the company to develop a full understanding of customer expectations to ensure that service meets expectations.
  • Be proactive and aim to fulfil business needs in a successful manner where appropriate.
  • Fully understand the many facets of the business and structure in order to value different requirements and act with diplomacy to achieve the best possible outcome.
  • Act as an ambassador for the company ensuring client confidentiality is maintained at all times.

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in a similar environment
  • Must come from a food production background

Flavour Operative

Role Overview

As a Flavour Operator you role is to ensure every product has the correct flavour combination as per client requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

Process

  • Build relationships with Operators on the opposite shifts pattern, to ensure concise handovers, ask questions, check for clarification and read the plan for the shift ahead.
  • Highlight and discuss any potential issues with shift leader.
  • Ensure production is allowed to flow effectively by taking responsibility for a flavouring being weighed accurately using the scales provided
  • Update and record all information and make sure the data record sheet is clear and accurate.
  • Ensure whiteboard for flavouring usage and batch code is completed by every shift.
  • Keep each flavouring room clean and tidy and free from contaminants.
  • Responsible for cleaning and sensitising flavouring systems, troughs and weigh heads after each flavour change.
  • Assist the shift leader in covering in other production areas.
  • Take part in any other duties that are required.
  • Report any physical, chemical or microbiological contamination of finished product or raw materials, and highlight any products that do not meet client’s specification.

Health Safety and Food Hygiene

  • You must ensure you wear the appropriate colour coded PPE
  • You are responsible for keeping your areas clean and tidy at all times.
  • You must ensure you use the appropriate colour coded utensils as stipulated in your work instructions.
  • Ensure all equipment when not in use is stored on food safe flooring.
  • You are responsible for your own safety as well as other working in your areas.
  • Attend, participate and contribute to meetings ensuring appropriate up to date
