Architectural Fabricator
Major Recruitment are working with a well-established and growing fabrication company based in Nottingham, who are looking for an experienced Architectural Fabricator to join their team.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working from drawings, taking a project from raw materials through to a finished product, and wants to work on bespoke, high-end architectural metalwork.
The Role
As an Architectural Fabricator, you will be involved in the full fabrication process, working on bespoke staircases, balustrades and architectural metalwork for a variety of projects.
You will be responsible for:

Reading and working from engineering and fabrication drawings

Measuring, marking out and cutting materials accurately

Fabricating and assembling components to drawing specifications

MIG and TIG welding across mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium and brass where required

Tack welding, fitting and checking your own work

Grinding, dressing and finishing fabricated components to a high standard

Working to tight measurements and tolerances, typically around 2-3mm

Using a range of hand and workshop tools safely and confidently

Ensuring finished products meet the required quality and specification

Working closely with the wider workshop team to complete projects on time

Keeping your work area clean, organised and safe
The company works on a variety of bespoke architectural projects, so attention to detail and pride in your work are really important. No two jobs are necessarily the same, so someone who enjoys variety and problem-solving will fit well.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone with previous experience in metal fabrication, ideally within an architectural, structural or bespoke fabrication environment.
You’ll ideally have:

Strong fabrication and fitting experience

The ability to confidently read and interpret drawings

Good measuring and setting-out skills
-
Experience working with different metals

MIG/TIG welding experience

Good knowledge of workshop tools and fabrication equipment

Excellent attention to detail

The ability to work independently and as part of a team

A quality-focused approach to your work
Welding is an important part of the role, but this is primarily a fabrication position – we’re looking for someone who can take a drawing, understand what needs to be produced and confidently fabricate the finished product.
Hours & Benefits

Monday-Thursday: 7:30am-4:30pm

Friday: 12:30pm finish

Salary up to £19 per hour, depending on experience

Overtime paid at x1.5 after 39 hours
