Position – Clinical Manager – Urgent Care

Location – Chippenham, Wiltshire

Salary – Up to £60,000 p.a

Hours – 37.5 hours per week

About the Service – This is an Integrated Urgent Care service to Bath & North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire. It is supported by Access to Care, Response and same day urgent care for adults and children in Swindon.

About the role – You will be responsible for the clinical management and leadership of the non-medical prescribing Advanced Clinical Practitioners with includes nurses, allied health professionals and pharmacists. Duties include ensuring best practice in compliance and robust governance. As well as managing and supporting the clinical team, you will work closely with the Associate Director of Clinical Services and existing Service Leads. You and your team will provide unscheduled care through the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and discharge or referral of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed injury / illness, or acute exacerbation of existing conditions. This will involve working a variety of sessions during the day as well as autonomously during Out Of Hours periods including nights, weekends, weekday evenings and Bank Holidays.

Experience and qualifications – You will be a Registered Nurse / Pharmacist/ Specialist Paramedic and hold a current and valid registration with your professional Body and have a minimum of 5 years post registration work experience. You will have a Masters level qualification of Advanced Clinical Practice or able to demonstrate similar experience of operating at an equivalent level. You need to be able to evidence continuing professional development. You will have expert knowledge of current clinical issues both in education and practice and be adept in complex decision-making as an experienced Advanced Clinical Practitioner. Ideally, you will hold an Independent Prescribing qualification but this is not essential. You will be required to attend training and professional development programmes as appropriate in accordance with requirements of role.
