HSE Advisor – FMCG / Food

Working on behalf of our FMCG clinet, BPSS are looking to recruit a HSE Advisor.
This new standalone function will be reporting to the General Manager. As HSE Advisor you will be responsible for monitoring and proactively influencing the site’s H&S performance and assisting in the implementation of new HSE processes. You will work across various teams, coaching them to enable culture change whilst increasing legal compliance in relation to H&S legislation, identifying safety issues, and implementing and monitoring safety improvement plans.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist in the development & delivery of HSE Strategic Plans
- Identify, plan, manage and deliver CI plans
- Identify, report and establish remedial actions for safety issues/ non-compliance
- Undertake appropriate training when required
- Monitor, report on and influence HSE KPI’s
- Management of the PPE process together with the Technical department.
- Support managers during accident/ incident investigations to identify true root cause, trends and increase claims risk
- Act as the custodian for risk assessments and have full ownership of the processes and documentation
- Build and maintain string working rapports with internal and external stakeholders
- Perform audits and inspections
- Be a HSE Champion: providing training, briefs and communications to raise awareness and buy in at all levels
- Keep up with relevant legislative changes and inform SMT accordingly
Skills & Experience
- Level 3 H&S Qualification
- Previous experience as a HSE Officer/ Advisor in FMCG or hospitality sector
- Proactive & can work in a standalone role
- Hands on
- Excellent communicator
- Good team player
- Ability to challenge existing status
- CI mindset
