We’re looking for a dedicated and passionate Kitchen Assistant to join our team and ensure that we continue delivering high-quality meals and a great dining experience. As a Kitchen Assistant, you’ll play a crucial role in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, helping to create a smooth, efficient service, and ensuring that every meal is a reflection of our commitment to resident care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, cook, and serve hot and cold meals as required, ensuring that the correct menu orders and signature dishes are followed.

  • Cater to special dietary requirements and preferences, ensuring the needs of individual residents are met.

  • Clean and maintain kitchen areas, including washing up after meals, ensuring all crockery, utensils, and equipment are cleaned and stored properly.

  • Ensure high standards of health and safety by following the care home’s Health & Safety policy, Emergency and Fire procedures, and COSHH guidelines.

  • Stock management: Assist with stock rotation, order stock, check deliveries, and check and value stock as required.

  • Build relationships with residents, understanding their likes and dislikes, and helping to create a warm, welcoming environment.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience: At least 1 year working in a kitchen (preferred)

  • Skills & Qualifications:

    • Full DBS check

    • Training in COSHH, Food Hygiene, Health and Safety, and Manual Handling

    • Ability to follow clear and precise instructions

    • Excellent communication skills

    • Evidence of relevant qualifications

    • Entitlement to work in the UK
