Major Recruitment have an opportunity for an experienced Machine Technician to join our prestigious client in Daventry.
Monday to Friday
Full time 37.5 hours/week
Clean driving licence essential as travelling between sites will be required
Aerospace/Automotive experience desirable
Your responsibilities as a Machine Technician will include:
- Ensure maximum factory output through operational efficiencies and minimal machine downtime.
- Attend breakdowns, identify fault and problem solve with minimal downtime to production.
- Carry out diagnosis of faults, the maintenance and repairs to all types of plant and equipment in a safe, timely and professional manner and return equipment to operational service.
- Estimate length of time required to complete a job and likely consequences of failure to complete work within required timescales.
- Identify and escalate any activity that has the potential to cause harm or damage to individuals or the business.
- Analysis of issues to root cause and development of countermeasures, improvement actions and/or suggestions to improve.
- Control and source maintenance tools, equipment and spares.
- Document maintenance breakdowns, identifying root cause and remedial action to help identify and resolve recurring issues.
- Report breakdown root causes, equipment faults and concerns to management.
- Identify machine spares requirements and log usage.
- Identify and manage critical spares to ensure continuity in production areas.
- Ensure TPM’s are carried out on a daily, weekly and monthly basis and record completion for traceability.
- Assist in the development of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules.
- Assist with the moving, installation, repositioning of machines and equipment.
- Assist visiting specialist engineers when necessary.
- Setting up all plant and machinery to works order in advance of operator becoming free.
- Check roots, work instructions and SOPs are available and correct.

- Automotive / Aerospace experience
