Major Talent is partnered with a food ingredients business in the United States that offers a range of products to the Nutrition, Pharmaceutical and Food and Beverage industries. They are looking for a Sourcing Manager to join the business in an exciting expansion

The Sourcing Manager will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, sourcing raw materials and food ingredients, negotiating contracts, and ensuring continuity of supply across the organisation. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience within the food industry, particularly in ingredient sourcing or purchasing

This is a hybrid role based out of a facility in Los Angeles, California or Michigan.

Responsibilities of a Sourcing Manager

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for food ingredients and raw materials
  • Identify, evaluate, and manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost competitiveness, and supply reliability
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and supply agreements with domestic and international suppliers
  • Monitor market trends, commodity pricing, and ingredient availability to mitigate risk and identify opportunities
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, quality, R&D, and supply chain teams to support business objectives
  • Ensure suppliers meet company standards for food safety, quality and regulatory compliance
  • Manage inventory and purchasing activities to support production and customer demand
  • Drive cost savings initiatives while maintaining product quality and supplier performance
  • Support new product development initiatives through ingredient sourcing and supplier collaboration

Skills required to be a Sourcing Manager

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Food Science, or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or purchasing within the food ingredients or chemicals industry
  • Direct experience sourcing food ingredients is required
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
  • Knowledge of food manufacturing, ingredient markets, and supply chain processes
  • Experience working with ERP or procurement systems
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment and collaborate across teams
