About the Role
Our client, a well-established and respected organisation within the waste management and recycling sector, is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented QHSE & Compliance Coordinator to join their highly motivated team at their recycling facility in Aberdeen.
This is a key role responsible for ensuring the highest standards of Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) compliance across all operations. The successful candidate will develop, implement, and maintain QHSE policies, conduct risk assessments, and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of waste management processes and demonstrate a clear commitment to promoting a safe, compliant, and sustainable working environment.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and evaluate QHSE management systems, policies, and procedures within the workplace.

Plan, coordinate, and conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments with both internal and external stakeholders.

Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and industry standards.

Deliver QHSE training and ongoing support to staff across the business.

Provide QHSE expertise during tenders, contract negotiations, and project execution.

Investigate and report on accidents and incidents, identifying corrective actions and areas for improvement.

Maintain and continuously improve the Integrated Management System in line with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.

Participate in toolbox talks to support operational understanding and encourage strong QHSE engagement across teams.
Qualifications & Requirements

Proven experience in a QHSE role.

Strong knowledge of QHSE management systems, current legislation, and best practice.

Previous experience working with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.

Accredited experience conducting audits and investigations.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence, guide, and support teams in adhering to QHSE procedures.

Experience resolving operational issues and promoting a safety-first culture.

High attention to detail, particularly within a busy office environment.

Strong research skills with the ability to produce clear, practical written procedures.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

IOSH Health & Safety certification (or equivalent).
