Business Development Manager – Scotland (AEC / Surveying)

The Role
We’re recruiting for a driven Business Development Manager to support growth across Scotland for a well-established surveying business. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with 2-3 years of business development experience within the AEC (Architecture, Engineering & Construction) sector who is looking to build on their success.
You’ll play a key role in identifying new opportunities, developing strong client relationships, and securing new business across sectors including construction, infrastructure, utilities, and property development.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver a business development strategy across Scotland
- Identify and win new business opportunities within AEC markets
- Build strong relationships with architects, engineers, contractors, developers, and consultants
- Use existing industry contacts to generate leads and expand the client base
- Attend networking events, industry functions, and client meetings
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure successful project delivery
- Prepare and present proposals, tenders, and presentations
- Manage and maintain an accurate sales pipeline using CRM systems
- Keep up to date with market trends and competitor activity
About You
- 2-3 years’ experience in business development or a similar commercial role
- Background in AEC, construction, engineering, or surveying preferred
- Strong network across Scotland’s construction/engineering sectors
- Proven ability to win new business and hit targets
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Self-motivated and able to manage your own territory
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
Desirable
- Knowledge of surveying or geospatial services
- Experience working with public and private sector clients
- Understanding of Scottish procurement frameworks
