A qualified Mechanical Fitter is needed to work in a busy team assembling low and medium voltage power distribution equipment
Main Duties:
- Manufacture, testing and repair of power equipment (transformers and switchgear) such as the fitting of gaskets, bushings, conservators, and associated instruments.
- Carry out mechanical and electrical interconnection of low and medium voltage equipment
- Complete internal and external electrical and mechanical connections ensuring
- fixings are torqued in accordance with relevant specifications.
- Undertake the fitment of bunds and ancillary equipment including the manufacture, assembly and modification of metalwork to ensure adequate stability of interconnected equipment.
- Undertake the slinging, lifting and movement of equipment throughout the facility in a safe and efficient manner.
- Assist in the inspection of both incoming and outgoing product to ensure the highest possible standards in quality and performance.
- Understand and follow the various SHEQ company policies ensuring the safety of yourself and your work colleagues.
- Contribute to the company’s policy of continuous improvement.
YOUR SKILLS
The ideal candidate will have completed an Apprenticeship in Mechanical Fitting BTEC Level-3 and have experience of reading, understanding and interpreting mechanical/ electrical
Drawings. You will need good communication skills and the initiative to work safely and in a productive fashion in addition to good documentation skills. Experience of control panels, switchgear, transformers or automated machinery assembly is preferred
