Quality Assurance & Compliance Manager
Location: Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire
Salary: £58,000 – £63,000 per annum (Dependent on Experience)

K&D Recruitment is proud to partner with a leading, fast-growing engineering manufacturer based in Aylesbury. Our client is at the forefront of their industry and is seeking a dynamic Quality Assurance & Compliance Manager to join their ambitious team.
In this pivotal role, you will take ownership of developing, implementing, and maintaining the company’s Quality Management System (QMS), while acting as the key interface for customer quality teams and regulatory compliance authorities.
Key Responsibilities

Quality & Compliance Management: Maintain high standards for ISO 9001 accreditation and ensure internal and external audit schedules are executed on time.

Continuous Improvement: Lead operational excellence initiatives utilizing LEAN and Continuous Improvement (CI) tools across the organization.

Root Cause Analysis: Manage the NCR process, producing actionable metrics to drive performance and monitor corrective actions.

Supply Chain Support: Partner with Procurement to review and audit existing and new subcontractors.

Cross-Functional Leadership: Support the wider quality team with technical manuals (e.g., ASME standards) and manage team skill matrices to support professional development.

Leadership & Coaching: Ability to inspire, guide, and train teams across the business in problem-solving and quality methodologies.

Mindset: Highly resilient, pragmatic, and hands-on, with a growth-focused approach to process optimization.

Collaboration: Capable of building strong working relationships with Engineering, Operations, Procurement, Logistics, and Finance.
Requirements & Qualifications

Essential:
-
HND in a STEM subject (or equivalent experience).

Proven background in a senior quality role within a highly regulated manufacturing environment.

Hands-on experience with ISO 9001 systems.

Practical knowledge of fabrication and metalwork processes.

Desirable:

Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline.

Lead Auditor accreditation (ISO 9001 / AS9100).

Experience within Aerospace, Defence, or Nuclear sectors.

Familiarity with PED, ASME VIII, AS9100, and welding standards.
