Role: Accounts Supervisor

Are you a nearly or newly qualified accountant looking to take the next step in your accountancy career with an established and growing firm?
An exciting opportunity is available for an Accounts Supervisor to join a supportive and growing accountancy team. You’ll manage a small portfolio of SME clients, develop strong client relationships and play an important role in supporting, supervising and developing junior members of the team.
The Role
- Manage a small portfolio of SME clients
- Maintain regular client contact and deliver a proactive, client-centred service
- Train and supervise students within the team
- Review the work of colleagues and students, providing constructive feedback and development guidance
- Prepare accounts for Limited Companies, LLPs, partnerships and sole traders
- Prepare management accounts
- Draft personal and corporation tax computations
- Assist departmental Assistant Managers with ad hoc client tasks
- Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge of accounting standards, corporation tax and personal tax
- Communicate with clients and HMRC, both verbally and in writing
- Work closely with colleagues to provide a coordinated service to clients
About You
- Nearly or newly qualified ACCA, ICAS or ICAEW accountant
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience working within an accountancy practice
- Enjoy working directly with clients across a range of sectors
- Competent in the preparation of sole trader, FRS102 and FRS102 1A Limited Company accounts
- Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
- Able to manage your own workload, work on your own initiative and meet tight deadlines and budgets
- Excellent IT skills with the ability to quickly learn and retain knowledge of new software
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A clear commitment to delivering first-class service to clients and colleagues
- A strong team player with the ability to support, supervise and develop others
- Organised, adaptable and commercially minded
