  • Helping pupils develop communication, social skills and independence.
  • Supporting pupils with their emotional wellbeing and promoting positive behaviour.
  • Assisting with pupils’ individual learning and care needs.
  • Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils, colleagues and families.
  • Helping to create a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.

You don’t need to have worked in a specialist school previously, but you should have some experience supporting children or young people with SEND, whether through paid employment or voluntary work.

Essential requirements:

  • GCSE Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent Level 2 qualifications.
  • Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs.
  • An understanding of autism, SEND and/or SEMH.
  • A patient, caring and flexible approach.
  • Good communication and relationship-building skills.
  • An understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
  • A genuine commitment to helping young people achieve their potential.

Desirable:

  • Level 2 or above qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Why Apply?

  • Join an Ofsted-rated Outstanding specialist school.
  • Work with a supportive and experienced team.
  • Make a genuine difference to children and young people’s lives.
  • Be part of a school that values individual progress and celebrates every achievement.
  • Opportunities to develop your skills and experience within specialist education.
