  • Rate of pay – £13
  • Brief duties- experience ride on mower driver used toro lt300 or similar tractor and gang mower driver
  • Tickets they will require – Lantra or one year experience
  • Location : Manchester M23 9LF

Responsibilities:

  • You will be involved in ground maintenance within the borough of Trafford working in parks open spaces and on highway verges and a good knowledge of the area is an advantage.
  • General maintenance, such as grass cutting, ride on mowing, hedge trimming, clearing leaves and litter, bowling green maintenance, pruning and seeding
  • Setting out, making sports pitches Operate light plant and power tools Undertake vehicle, tractor, and cutting equipment checks

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Full driving license Basic knowledge of gardening and horticulture operations General experience of grounds maintenance type duties
  • Experience in operating ride on mowers, light plant and equipment and wheeled tractors
  • Experience of horticulture operations including fine turf maintenance bowling greens, planting, pruning and seeding
  • Understanding of Health and Safety Legislation COSHH 12D PA1 & PA6 (Pesticides) Ride on Cylinder Mower Strimmer hedge cutters and Tractor and Side Arm Flail

Major Recruitment are recruiting for a Health and Safety Officer working on a part time basis in East Yorkshire!

What will your day to day look like?

  • Expert Advice and Guidance: Collaborate closely with Senior team and Line Managers to provide expert advice on H&S Policies, Safe Operating Procedures, and Risk Assessments.
  • Coaching and Development: Coach and develop the knowledge of Senior team and Line Managers regarding health and safety protocols.
  • Audit Support: Work with HR and Technical management teams to provide safety support during various company audits.
  • Policy Development: Develop and execute workplace health and safety plans according to legal guidelines.
  • Policy Enforcement: Prepare and enforce policies and procedures to foster a culture of health and safety.
  • Risk Assessment: Evaluate practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and ensure adherence to company and legal requirements.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Monitor compliance with policies and laws through inspections of employees and operations
  • Equipment and Machinery Inspection: Inspect equipment and machinery to ensure legal compliance and identify unsafe conditions for repair/improvement.
  • Statutory Safety Inspections Management: Oversee statutory safety inspections for: Lifting equipment, Forklift trucks, Fire extinguishers, Ladders and racking
  • Workplace Inspections: Conduct regular workplace inspections and generate action plans to improve practices and housekeeping.
  • Accident Investigation: Investigate accidents and incidents to identify root causes and help prevent future occurrences.
  • Training and Presentations: Conduct training sessions and presentations on health and safety matters and accident prevention.
  • Hazard and Near Miss Reporting: Promote hazard and near miss reporting to encourage workforce safety awareness.

We’re looking for that star individual who will ensure compliance with health and safety laws, establish workplace safety policies, and improve conditions by identifying hazards. The suitable candidate will hold the following:

  • NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health.
  • Membership of IOSH.
  • Extensive and up to date knowledge of Health and Safety legislation.
  • Experience of Health and Safety management
