Major Recruitment, in partnership with Polytec Group, are looking to recruit a Project Manager on a permanent basis to join the team based in Telford.

As a Project Manager you will co-ordinate & control new or modified vehicle-component projects, from concept through to post-production launch, and ensuring delivery of the complete project scope to the agreed timing, cost & quality targets.

Key duties include:

  • Support/contribute to the creation & implementation of a best-practice Polytec NPI /Programme Management vision, strategy, policies, processes & procedures to aid & improve operational performance
  • Be responsible for the approved project budget/PD & Cash-Flow and the tracking / forecasting of spend against that budget
  • Provide strong leadership/guidance towards all departments & groups, and manage the customer, suppliers/service providers & the other internal departments via strong stakeholder management skills to ensure optimal performance
  • Fulfil all customer requirements in their portals/systems for the duration of the Project
  • Control quality of project work by appropriate reviews
  • Manage the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of Timing, Cost, Quality & Cash-Flow
  • Prepare & present periodic Governance presentations for both internal & Customer Management Review using the most-recent, best practice, agenda/PowerPoint
  • Create & update the project planning documentation for the various work streams, recording all relevant information on the appropriate project control documentation, including but not limited to the LOP/Teams activity list and C-BOT with Cashflow
  • Create, maintain & communicate (min monthly) the detailed Polytec Project Plan in MS-Project in line with the complete project scope, customer milestones and Polytec PEP Gateway timing

Skills required:

  • Previous experience of leading Automotive Tier-1 Projects – mandatory requirement
  • Previous experience of leading APQP process & all Gate Approvals
  • Managing cross-functional teams / matrix organisations
  • Working knowledge of SAP an advantage
  • Attention to details and flexible attitude to tasks and able to prioritise tasks effectively
  • Good communication skills
  • IT literate, able to work confidently with Microsoft Office (e-mail, Word, Excel, etc).
  • Able to work to deadlines within a fast-paced / challenging environment and with a varied / full workload
