This manufacturer of electrical mechanical parts for the defence and marine industries is looking for 2 CNC Turner Setter Operators to join them for permanent positions at their site near Littlehampton.

You will be experienced in Mazatrol and Fanuc control systems.

Duties include:

  • Working to customer specifications.
  • Ability to read drawings / specifications.
  • Setting tools and Fixturing and running of machines.
  • Programming (Editing offsets) machines with minimum supervision required.
  • Ability to use inspection equipment and inspect own work.
  • Working on own initiative.
  • Updating basic maintenance on machines (T.P.M.)
  • Safe handling of components, jigs and fixtures

NPI Project Engineer

A Project Engineer with a background in NPI Projects and Manufacturing Engineering is sought by a growing manufacturing company in the Tyneside area.

The role will be responsible for NPI Engineering tasks as allocated by the NPI Director, including the management and implementation of selected Improvement projects relating to New Product Introduction, Production processes and Machinery. Duties will also include

  • Working with the business development and product design teams to determine suitable manufacturing processes.
  • Control and implementation of engineering change requests, participate in project reviews and manage projects where required.
  • Responsibility for the evaluation, introduction and proving of new methods.
  • Specify, evaluate and recommend machinery & equipment for new processes
  • Develop new processes to improve quality, cost, delivery, environment
  • Prepare training packages and instruct personnel in the use of new equipment, methods or systems.
  • The creation and control of master data within the MRP system, including materials, BOMs and Routes

The successful candidate will ideally have a HND / Degree, in an Engineering discipline with experience of working within a change-led manufacturing environment. Certification to Six Sigma Green Belt level is also needed. Good project management skills are essential as you will often have short-lead times to implement process changes. The ability to lead and manage manufacturing change is essential as are strong communication and interpersonal skills and a good attention to detail.

Installer Operative

Major Recruitment are currently recruiting a number of Installation Operatives for our client based in Ashton in Makerfield.

Duties of the role will include;

  • Driving Company vehicles
  • Travel around the UK
  • Installing medical devices in customer homes
  • Repairing and servicing of medical devices

Hours for the role will typically be Monday to Friday 0830-1700, although once fully trained overtime may be available at enhanced rates.

You will need a full clean UK driving license for this role.

After first 12 weeks you will be issued with your own company van, pay increase, and will have the potential to put yourself onto an on call rota, which comes with an additional payment of £225 per week.

What will you be doing?

  • An Engineering Degree is required

  • Experience of working in a multi disciplines engineering environment
  • Experience of communicating with people at all levels
  • Experience of managing tasks and delivering to an agreed timescale and budget.
  • Experience creating business models and developing project budgets

The role involves hand soldering wires and components on to PCB boards. Experience working within a soldering background is essential.
