Deputy General Manager – Registered General Nurse

Major Recruitment are currently working with a well-respected, independently owned Care Home to recruit a Registered General Nurse to take up the position of Deputy General Manager. This position would be on a Permanent, Full Time basis, based in the Deeside area of Aberdeenshire.

As the Deputy General Manager you will be tasked with:

  • Supporting the Director and General Manager with smoothly running the Home on a day-to-day basis
  • Deputising for the Director and General Manager in their absence. This would require assuming 24-hour accountability for the Home as required.

Some of what you will be responsible for:-

  • Working closely with other Managers and Heads of Department to ensure the efficiency and standard of all services are maintained and kept high.
  • Completing direct nursing and general care work as required and occasional ad hoc to cover sickness/holidays. Ensuring the safe management of medications in line with company policy, current legislation and NMC and Scottish Care Inspectorate guidelines.
  • Manage staff rota to ensure sufficient staff coverage and accurate payroll every month, ensuring efficient and effective use of manpower and maintaining accurate records of staff absence/leave.
  • Organise any Care at Home requirements.
  • Assist with training of all staff and ensuring accurate training records are kept
  • Promoting Health and Safety in the workplace, ensuring and H&S Audit actions are implemented in a timely manner and annual Risk Assessments are carried out.
