Major Talent is partnered with a global seafood business in Indonesia. We are currently looking to speak with qualified candidates for a General Manager opening.
As a general manager, you will oversee sourcing and manufacturing operations, driving yield, productivity and cost improvements while ensuring food safety, quality, traceability, sustainability, and customer requirements are consistently met. You will be responsible for a team of supply chain, quality, lab and administration staff.
Responsibilities of a General Manager
- Develop and execute the Company’s strategic plans, business objectives, and annual budgets in alignment with company goals and business priorities.
- Provide leadership and ensure effective performance of all managerial and functional areas to achieve organizational objectives.
- Drive overall business performance by monitoring revenue growth, profitability, cash flow, working capital, and operational efficiency.
- Oversee key business functions and multiple business entities.
- Identify and pursue strategic business opportunities, partnerships, investments, and growth initiatives to support long-term business expansion and sustainability.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, governance standards, and internal control systems.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Company Management, customers, suppliers, government authorities, and financial institutions.
- Represent the Company in strategic meetings, audits, negotiations, and external business engagements.
- Lead sourcing and procurement activities to ensure adequate raw material supply, quality, and cost competitiveness.
- Drive manufacturing performance through yield improvement, productivity enhancement, and cost optimization initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, traceability, sustainability, and customer requirements.
Experience/ Skills Required to be a General Manager
- Bachelor’s degree in any related field; Master’s degree (MBA or equivalent) is an advantage.
- Progressive leadership experience in a complex and dynamic business environment.
- Experience in a senior management or general management role with full accountability for business performance.
- Strong business acumen with solid understanding of core business functions, including operations, finance, supply chain, and organizational management.
- Proven record of accomplishment in driving business growth, profitability, and operational excellence and organizational performance.
- Demonstrated leadership capability in managing cross-functional teams and complex organisational structures.
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, decision-making and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
