Hygiene Operative

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:
To maintain the cleanliness of the mill equipment, and facilities as required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operate in a safe manner ensuring that no one is placed at risk of accident or injury during the performing of cleaning and hygiene duties

  • Safely isolate and lock off equipment as required.
  • Perform cleaning and hygiene duties according to cleaning schedules, cleaning procedures and / or as otherwise advised.
  • Able to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
  • Identify and report any safety, quality, engineering or hygiene issues to superiors – particularly if there is the possibility of injury, food safety or equipment reliability issues or risk of dust in the environment
  • Identify and report any pest or proofing issues that may result in the immediate (or otherwise) ingress of insects or other pests into the product
  • Identify and report any potential foreign body or cross contamination
  • Safely dismantle, store parts and reassemble equipment as directed by procedures or verbal instruction
  • Clean equipment within the time allocated and to the required standard – which may be assessed by others.
  • Respecting others’ working areas
  • Respecting good manufacturing and housekeeping practices
  • Handle approved chemicals in a safe manner, ensuring splashing and inadvertent contact is minimised to yourself and others
  • Handle equipment, utensils, and record sheets with respect
  • Always return equipment, utensils and record sheets to the correct location / stations or as otherwise advised
  • When undertaking hygiene /other duties – wear the correct (and appropriate) PPE at all times
  • Notify your line manager of any potential Health & Safety issues.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in similar role – food related background
  • Level 2 Food Safety / HACCP trained
  • COSSH trained

Production Operator

Working for a successful milling company who are experts in their field, dedicated to driving innovation in their manufacturing operations. You will be required to Operate Plant Machinery and equipment efficiently to produce a product within the Food Safety and Quality system.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To ensure Health and Safety standards are maintained and adhered to at all times
  • To understand Production processes.
  • To set up and diagnose Plant machinery to run at its maximum efficiency.
  • To diagnose Process faults.
  • To understand workings of all machinery and auxiliary components to achieve maximum throughput and quality.
  • To diagnose and reports faults on all machinery.
  • To work to daily production targets.
  • To keep working areas clean and hygienic at all times.
  • To maintain a quality product to specification.
  • To achieve throughput targets and yields.
  • To complete Pre-start “HACCP” checks and relevant magnet checks across the plant.
  • Any other duties as required by the Company from time to time
  • Notify your line manager of any potential Health & Safety issues.

Hamilton Woods Associates are currently working with a Christian based charitable organisation, that supports offenders to live crime free lives. They are currently recruiting for a permanent Supported Housing Manager to manage their Bedford based projects.

Responsibilities of the Supported Housing Manager includes:

  • Managing a service that provides housing and tenancy services for men with multiple needs including, mental health and substance misuse issues
  • Ensuring the project is maintained to a safe and habitable standard
  • Managing the referral process
  • Leading regular team meetings
  • Engaging with Christian faith-based communities
  • Liaising with other housing providers
  • Maintaining agreed staffing levels
