A Mechanical Design Engineer with experience of designing pumps, rotating equipment or high-pressure hydraulic systems is needed by a successful engineering company
You will be working within an established research and development team creating concept designs and building prototypes for the companies core product suite.
Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Produce 3D models and drawings
- Coordinate design and development activities with the product management team to ensure finished designs are in line with the product roadmap
- Preparing design documentation for production (component design, technical drawings)
- Contributing to design reviews
- Completing calculations for design validation
- Prototype design build & test
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Design Engineer with a strong understanding of manufacturing processes including casting, forging, machining, and metal fabrication. You will also need excellent 2D and 3D design skills with experience of Solidworks. The ability to understand complex engineering specifications and experience of rotating equipment or pumps would be a strong advantage as would any FEA or CFD experience.
Strong attention to detail is required, along with the ability to work on multiple projects to tight timescales and stringent standards without compromising on quality or cost. Some overseas and UK travel may be required for short periods.
