The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Supervisor / Senior Technician to join an established team based from their Colchester depot, supporting a major portfolio of electricity transmission and distribution projects across the UK.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong electrical background and hands-on substation experience, ideally within the 11kV-33kV environment.
You will be working for one of the UK’s busiest T&D clients, delivering critical electrical infrastructure projects and playing an important role in the safe and efficient delivery of works on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate electrical works across substation and T&D projects.
- Provide technical leadership and support to site teams and subcontractors.
- Ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications and project documentation.
- Monitor installation, testing and commissioning activities.
- Carry out inspections and ensure works comply with relevant standards and procedures.
- Liaise with Project Managers, Site Managers, engineers and client representatives.
- Assist with planning, sequencing and coordination of site activities.
- Identify and resolve technical issues on site.
- Maintain a strong focus on health, safety, quality and environmental requirements.
- Provide hands-on technical support where required.
About You
We are keen to speak with candidates who have:
- Strong electrical experience, ideally within T&D, utilities or electrical infrastructure.
- Previous substation experience.
- Experience working across 11kV-33kV systems would be highly advantageous.
- Previous experience as an Electrical Supervisor, Senior Technician, Senior Electrician or similar.
- A good understanding of electrical installation, maintenance, testing and commissioning.
- The ability to supervise teams while remaining technically hands-on.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- A safety-first approach and the ability to work effectively within a site environment.
- The flexibility to travel to project sites when required.
