Facilities Engineer

Major Recruitment are working in partnership with a facilities management company for a Fcilities Maintenance Engineer to join our Site Support Services, delivering Industrial Facilities Management for Clients across the West Midlands.

Role:- Facilities Maintenance Engineer

Role Type:- Permanent

Location:- Coventry (Travel accross sites will be required)

Salary:- £32,000 – £36,000

Hours Of Work:- 8am – 5pm – Monday to Friday

Start Date:- Immediate (Pending Successful Interview)

Duties Will Include:-

  • Completing a full range of planned maintenance duties with some minor reactive works being included in the works schedule. Works may also include some minor install/ replacements

  • Working to a planned a weekly schedule and then any reactive jobs will be added through the week.

  • Candidates must be client friendly and prepared to engage with the client on site.

  • Working with an existing a Team of 3

The ideal candidate should have or be able to demonstrate the following skills: –

  • Excellent attitude towards Health & Safety.
  • Good time keeping and willing to work additional hours if necessary
  • Knowledge and experience of making repairs over multiple disciplines i.e., plumbing, joinery and roofing as the works are quite varied.
  • Minimum 2 year’s practical experience.
  • Valid UK driving license.
  • Basic electrical knowledge
  • Mechanical bias – must have Commercial Gas Qualifications, ideally would have F-Gas CAT1 as well. However, F-Gas is not essential.
  • The role involves travelling across sites
  • A fully expensed van will be provided.

Daily Duties and Responsibilities:-

  • The mail centre operates a fast and efficient system that will require you to work as part of a team with efficiency and commitment to complete your work and maintain business targets.

The role of a Gap Leader is to train, lead, empower, coordinate and motivate team members to ensure continuity of material on a time basis to the agreed quality and performance targets, whilst maintaining high standards of housekeeping.

Principal accountabilities:

  • Ensure consistently high levels of 5S within the GAP area
  • Ensure that all operators work to the required standard (Standardised work)
    • Train operators and ensure consistent application of self quality audits
    • Ensure that scrap and waste is documented and removed appropriately
    • Attend and, in the absence of the Supervisor, lead QRCI
  • Encourage improvement ideas from operators and ensure that the gap is kept regularly updated with the progress of any submitted improvement ideas
  • Maintain and update production and quality performance indicators and the training matrix on the GAP board in a timely manner, ensuring all gap members fully understand all indicators displayed and their impact on the business (QCDP)
  • Ensure all administration responsibilities are carried out in an accurate and timely manner
  • Faurecia Excellence System (FES) tools and techniques (EE, PSE, QSE, HSE) are used to achieve business objectives
  • Undertake the responsibilities of a production/ Logistics operator when required to meet production/ Logistics deadlines

Description:

The role of a Shopfloor Logistics Supervisor is to manage the internal flow of pieces, from receipt to shipping. The main missions of the role are to:

  • Ensure customer delivery: feed and monitor the sequencer, supervise preparation and loading of finished products into trucks, track shipments, communicate all shipment failures, implement customer Misdeliveries per Million (MPM) follow up and contribute to its reduction.
  • Ensure adequate production lines supplies: assure the cleanness and tidiness of stocking areas, ensure feeding of production lines (small train), supervise the unloading of pieces and measure suppliers MPM and manage a warning system in picking zone.
  • Conduct the implementation of logistics basics: booking operations, traceability, labelling, container management, etc.
  • Monitor visual management system: deploy visual First In First Out (FIFO) and install physical alert systems.
  • Manage the personnel issues of the assigned team:
    • Ensure daily team management: assure appropriate headcount, ensure the respect of standardised work methods, assure presence on the floor to answer questions or address problems.
    • Develop the team: ensure proper staffing, integrate new team members, foster individual development plans, advise and arrange for appropriate training, assure punctual job evaluations, etc.
  • Look for productivity gains.
  • Manage team performance: know team problems, define areas for performance improvements with team members, drive teamwork, lead problem solving groups, lead workshops on quality improvement (5S, TPM, 6M…).
  • Drive actions for improvement: communicate with the PC+L Manager, Warehouse and Production Supervisors of other shifts, and support functions to ensure a transparent information flow, collaborate to define improvement areas and action plans.
  • Ensure that working conditions are fully compliant with Group HSE standards: interfere in production line in case of safety risks and drive improvement of working conditions and ergonomics.
  • During the pursuit of all duties the code of Ethics will be adheared to at all times

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have/be:

  • Associate’s degree in engineering/Diploma, with a specialisation in Production
  • 1-3 years of experience in production in an industrial environment
  • Team Player

  • Operational level of English

We are currently recruiting Collection and Delivery drivers for Royal Mail in the Coventry area. This role is subject to successful background checks and will go live on the 01/08/2022.

About the role

You’ll start your day for an hour or so in the local delivery office, sorting the mail for your route, before taking out your van to complete your round. You’ll each be given a hand-held computer device to capture customer signatures for deliveries and the round will take around four hours to complete. The hand-held computer will also act as your routing system putting your round in the most economical route, telling you which house to go to next.

About You

Upbeat and self-motivated, you’ll be as happy working alone as you will be working as part of a team and getting to know the different people on your round. You’ll have a strong sense of community and the idea of doing a job that involves flexible working patterns will appeal to you.

We deliver parcels come rain or shine, so we’re looking for people who like being outdoors whatever the weather, you’ll also be someone who likes the idea of doing a job that will help you keep fit.

Some experience in a customer facing role would be ideal.

Driving licence requirements

A full UK manual driving licence (in your current UK address), with no more than six penalty points is essential, but a clean licence is preferred, no DR or IN convictions for insurance reasons.

This is a weekly paid position and starts from £11.50 p/h increasing after 12 weeks service.
