Location: Cranborne, Dorset

Salary: £12.37 – £13.49 per hour + £25 per night shift worked (approx. an additional £4,000 per year)

Annual Salary: £28141.75 – £30689.75

Hours: 7.45pm-8.15am- 4 on 4 off shifts- average of 43.75 hours per week.

School Staffing Solutions are recruiting for a NIGHT SUPPORT WORKER for a College, that supports young people between the ages of 16 and 25 who have additional social, emotional, autism and mental health needs.

We’re currently looking for a Night Support Worker to assist our students in their homes (on-site) (no personal care responsibilities).

The role:

As a Night support worker, you will play an important role in our young people’s lives, preparing them for adult life and facilitating their transition into further education, training, or employment.

Following a handover from our day team, you’ll support our students with their evening routine. You will mentor and support our young people in their evening activities, sports, or hobbies both on and off site and ensure they settle for night. This will be with the use of verbal and visual prompting dependent on the need of the young person.

You’ll also provide a key liaison point for parents and carers and ensure all health/medical needs are looked after throughout the night. You will be the listening ear and emotional support for young people to talk to after a busy day.

The key to this role will be your ability to participate and to motivate whilst ensuring our students develop their own independent living skills.

Skills and Qualifications:

Successful candidates are likely to demonstrate;

· Willingness to participate, be positive and creative in meeting our young person’s needs

· Able to support and develop independence skills such as budgeting, cooking, housekeeping as well as accessing the wider community

· Ability to prompt / encourage in a positive manner whilst providing social/emotional behavioural support

· Ability to show a strong understanding of what “good care” looks like and how to put the young person’s needs first, whilst empowering them to be independent

· Due to our rural location access to your own vehicle and a drivers licence is essential

· Given the age of our students all applicants must be 21 and over

Hamilton Woods Associates are currently recruiting for a Criminal Justice Service Manager on a permanent basis to work effectively in the management of offenders in their transition from custody into the community.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Criminal Justice Service Manager include (but not limited to):

  • Provide effective supervision, support, appraisal, and line management of staff, ensuring wellbeing, professional development, and consistent performance.
  • Represent the organisation at external events and contribute to internal activities that support organisational identity and stakeholder engagement.
  • Lead the assessment and management of risk to residents, staff, and the public, including security procedures and liaison with relevant stakeholders.
  • Manage complex and challenging behaviour calmly and professionally using assessment, planning, and de-escalation strategies.
  • Support referral processes, assess needs and risks, manage placements, and liaise with central referral units and partner agencies.
  • Work collaboratively with statutory agencies, including report writing for courts and other bodies in line with confidentiality and policy requirements.
  • Contribute to rota management, provide on-call cover, and support operational continuity, including emergency and recall processes.
  • Manage and oversee medication safely in line with organisational and statutory policies.
  • Lead and contribute to team meetings, brief staff on risks and changes, and ensure learning from incidents.
  • Support recruitment and retention of high-quality staff in collaboration with management and HR.
  • Manage high-risk individuals, including complex multi-agency public protection cases.

Essential Requirements of the Criminal Justice Service Manager:

  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Enhanced DBS
