Milling and Scouring Operative

Major Recruitment are currently seeking experienced Milling/scouring operatives for our prestigious client in the Huddersfiled area. This is an exciting opportunity to join a family run, estblished company who are experiencing exceptional growth.

Purpose
To assist in the preparation of fabrics for dyeing and finishing through Milling.

Key Tasks and Accountabilities:

Operation of Milling machine (and other machines depending on requirement)

Following Milling SOP

Following Milling machine cleaning procedure.

Ensuring fabric is processed to plan and to specification.

Pushing Carts from one area of the factory to another.

Ensuring storage is such that it keeps walkways and access points clear.

Following Procedures on Worksheets for different fabric Qualities.

Assisting in general preparation duties in the factory (MULTISKILLING)

Keeping the machine in a clean and safe condition.

Reporting any faults or inconsistencies to management.

Adhering to health and safety policies and safe systems of work.

Knowledge and aptitudes required:

Good hand eye co-ordination

Be able to follow instructions

Communicate effectively

Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative

Working hours

Monday to Thursday 6pm until 6am

Machine Opertor (Tenter)

Major Recruitment are currently seeking Tenter Machine operators for our prestigious client in the Huddersfield area. This is a rare and exciting opportuity to join a well established growing company.

Purpose:
To assist in the preparation of fabrics for dyeing and finishing

Responsibilities:

  • Operation of Tenter (and other machines depending on requirement)
  • Following Tenter SOP and cleaning procedure
  • Ensuring storage is such that it keeps walkways and access points clear
  • Moving A-frames/Carts from Tenter to inspections/finishing/dye house.
  • Following Procedures on worksheets for different fabric qualities
  • Assisting in general duties in the factory (multiskilling)
  • Keeping the machine in a clean and safe condition
  • Reporting any faults or inconsistencies to management
  • Adhering to health and safety policies and safe systems of work

Knowledge and aptitudes required:

  • Good hand eye co-ordination
  • Be able to follow instructions
  • Communicate effectively
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative

Working hours:

Monday to Friday on a rotation shift pattern

6am – 2pm week 1 (with an expectation to work overtime until 4pm)

2pm – 10pm week 2 (with an expectation to start before 2pm for overtime)

Fabric Manufacturer Nights

Major Recruitment are currenntly seeking fabric manufacturers to work at our clients facility in their dying room operations, you will be required to assist in the product and manufactur of fabrics specifically in the dying vessels. This is a rare and excitng opportunity to join a fast growing and well estabished textile company in Huddersfied

Purpose
To assist in the dyeing of fabrics

Key Tasks and Accountabilities:

Ability to locate/identify the correct pieces of fabric for scheduling

Ability to manually handle fabric into and out of the dye vessels

Good proficiency with Numeracy and English to operate the electronic dye dispenser and programs for the dyeing equipment

Attention to detail required for working with dye recipe’s and the distribution of colour to the correct dyeing machines.

Comfortable to work on feet all day and wear necessary PPE

Flexible in working hours as and when shift pattern dictates

Well organised and efficient in emptying/loading dyeing equipment

Following Procedures on Worksheets for different fabric qualities

Assisting in general duties in the factory (multiskilling)

Keeping the machine in a clean and safe condition

Reporting any faults or inconsistencies to management

Adhering to health and safety policies and safe systems of work

Goods In/Despatch Coordinator

Major Recruitment are currently seeking as Goods In/Despatch Coordinator for our clinet ion the Huiddersfield area. Due to rapid growth our client is now seeking a coordinator to strnegthen their existing team.

Main Duties will inlcude

Physical stock counting

Updating daily stock take on word and excel format

Print production sheets

Produce despatch paperwork for products that are due out the same day

Print labels

Unloading and loading vehicles

Replenish stock

Ensure all palletts are ready for despatch

Produce despatch paperwork

General warehouse duties
