Day to day duties

You will work independently alongside a workshop team. It is essential you can program and operate a CNC VMC machine, can read from technical drawings and sketches and are able to work on your own initiative and to tight deadlines to produce parts necessary for production.

Your exact duties would depend on the project but could include:

Have you worked in manufacturing leading a Production team and do you have strong leadership skills? This role is essential for supporting the Production team’s high level of t quality and productivity whilst managing time efficiencies.

Responsible for:
* Induction/On-boarding of new staff and holiday bookings
* Reporting of staff performance, disciplinary concerns, clocking in and absence issues
* Distribution of work and splitting of tasks to drive productivity via team leaders if in place
* Troubleshooting problems during the production process to get the Technicians up and running again as quickly as possible
* Communicate expectations across the team to meet deadlines, whilst maintaining quality standards
* Workspace security and health and safety standards supervision
* Liaison with Production Control Manager with regard to deliveries, priorities and overdue orders issues

Responsibilities:
Input and upkeep stores components

  • Maintenance and stock levels of engineering stores
  • PPE engineering stock control and to produce reports.
  • Administration of orders, despatch, goods received, invoices, PPE, health and safety environmental records.
  • Issuing stock products to the Engineers
  • Sourcing correct parts and order in a timely manner
  • Accurately and efficiently recording goods delivered into the stock control system
  • Recording stock adjustments and to action as appropriate
  • Maintaining high level of housekeeping
  • Attending site meetings when required to discuss any issues within store and following up
  • Recording goods inwards/outwards using Excel
  • Taking delivery of goods delivered on site
  • Ensuring goods are checked off in an accurate and timely manner and check for damage and quantity
  • Put materials away in stores after deliveries

Picking and Kitting:

Control of priorities for works orders processing within the stores, cutting and the workshop holding area, including reporting of late starts to Production Control.

Accurate assembly and safe storage of kits for cutting and main technical area

Notification and control of shortages, including accurate maintenance of stock figures.

Requirements:
– Previous experience in a production or warehouse environment
– Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
– Excellent organizational and time management skills
– Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
– Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
– Flexibility to work different shifts as needed
