Service Engineer

Norwich

FULL TIME – Permanent

Salary Depending on Experience, plus overtime.

Monday – Friday days (Flexibility required ) 39 Hours a week.

Major Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced Service Engineer to join our well-respected client in Norwich.

We are looking for someone with experience in Electrical and Mechanical Equipment, particularly within the Food Machinery sector.

Some travelling nationwide and abroad maybe required for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Regular maintenance and servicing of varied machinery
  • Fault finding and repairing mechanical and electrical faults in equipment.
  • Installing and commissioning new machinery and equipment at client sites
  • Providing technical support and advice to clients, ensuring optimal use of equipment.
  • Documenting service and repair work, maintaining customer service records.
  • Carrying out routine safety checks to comply wit industry standards and regulations.

Qualifications and experience

  • Must have relevant electrical qualifications.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the skills in installation and commissioning of machinery and equipment, ideally with some knowledge of PLC’s and software.
  • A valid Full UK Driving licence and flexibility to work away from home.

Major Recruitment are currently looking for an Engineering Manager for my world leading client, based in Norwich.

The Engineering Manager will have full responsibility for the team of Engineering Technicians, providing planning and practical support to ensure the effective and efficient performance of the process, from goods in, to dispatch.

As well as providing support for the engineering and technical staff, the Engineering Manager will need to actively participate in the scheduled maintenance, respond to breakdowns etc and act in a hands-on manner if required.

The Engineering Manager will also have responsibility for the key metrics such as MTTR and MTBF as well as primary budget management in connection with technical stores. In addition, this role is a key contributor for ideas and improvement to continuously improve the performance of the site.

Key Responsibilities

  • To have ownership of and lead a team of Engineering Technicans
  • Diagnose faults, repair equipment and be hands on if required.
  • Managing budgets and maintaining statistical and financial records
  • Suggesting ideas for continuous improvement

Requirements

  • Has a mix of strategic and operational skills (50/50 operational and strategic)
  • Previous experience leading an Engineering team.
  • HND/HNC qualifications in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Previous exposure to Food Industry

Multi Drop Driver 3.5t

Major Recruitment are pleased to be working with one of the World’s largest Postal Services company’s.

We are looking for a Multi Drop 3.5 tonne van driver to join our clients established team at their Norwich Depot.

The ideal candidate will have a clean UK driving licence (the client will consider a max of 6 points), be physically fit, have good customer service skills and previous experience of Multi Drop delivery.

Due to Insurance restrictions we can only accept candidates over the age of 25.

All uniform will be provided.

Hours of work – Monday to Friday 0730 – 1730

Contract starts in October and will run through to January with the potential to become a permanent role for the right candidate.

Pay is from £12.00 per hour.
