A full valid UK Driving licence

You will have Previous Managerial experience at a similar level within a similar industry, you will have experience of staff supervision, customer service, negotiating, selling and administration. Experience managing multi-site operations is advantageous

Effective communication skills, interpersonal skills and a good working knowledge of transport and/or distribution are necessary. The ideal candidate will also be extremely organised and have negotiating experience at a high level

The General Manager is typically a manager with a considerable background of trade, company and systems knowledge and a great depth of field experience

Whilst a sound education to degree standard is desired it is crucial that the candidate has the necessary drive, business acumen and enthusiasms to perform the duties required and drive the regions performance forward

To provide and promote service excellence and a best-in-class rental service to businesses in a designated area, through the effective management of all employees to ensure the development of sales, operations and administrative performance.

The General Manager, reporting directly to the Regional General Manager, is responsible for both the effective and profitable operational running of an assigned area. This will include but is not limited to:

  • Responsible for the effective and profitable operational running of the Area Fulfilment Centre and the Support Centre’s
  • Influences sales performance, through effective fleet and sales strategy
  • Assumes full responsibility for delivering service excellence and customer account management
  • Ensures and upholds high levels of audit compliance across the area
  • Mentors, supports, appraises, and develops their branches staff. This includes providing guidance and support to ensure their understanding of the Companies’ policies and procedures
  • Oversees all hire agreements and area operations

  • Recruits, develops, and manages suitably qualified staff, in accordance with all recruitment policies and procedures
  • Demonstrates a strong commercial acumen, evidenced by increasing Company contribution via area performance
  • Safeguards the health, safety and welfare of all employees and visitors, ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the premises are upheld to the correct standard
  • Effectively manages and contributes to the supply chain within their designated region, including developing an adequate resource of repair agents/body shops
  • Regularly assesses, reviews, and forecasts all aspects of performance
  • Engages with the training and development requirements of all staff
  • Continually reviews site standards within their area, ensuring the provision of any remedial work needed to enhance/maintain standards
  • Maintains a constant awareness of all changing trade and field situations, to evaluate information and recommend/implement action or innovation
  • Any other duties as directed by the Regional General Manager, Head of Operations or Managing Director

Independent Service Centre Manager

Our client an Independent Service and Mot centre is looking looking for a Service Centre manager to manage the day to day running of the business in Norwich

Working in conjunction with an assistant manager qualified motor trade technicians and the area manager to achieve targets and excel in customer service.

You will maintain the workflow through the business to maximise the workshop and keep the technicians busy. A hands on approach is key

Manage the day to day ordering of parts and consumables, making sure the parts are always ready and available
You must have a train and retain ethos to coach the team.

The business is open 6 days a week and the whole team works on a rota basis including Saturdays. Working a 5 day week having a day off in the week as saturday is a working day

Motor trade experience is essential for this role and would suit someone with a Motor trade technician background. A technician that is looking to take the 1st step into management a service manager or workshop controller looking to escape the dealer network politics.

Must hold a full uk driving licence

As a Centre manager, you will be rewarded with a basic salary which depends on experience between £33000 to £35000 plus a centre bonus for achieving set budgets.

We are looking for a Multi Drop (65 – 70 parcels per day) 3.5tonne van driver to join our clients established team at their Norwich Depot.
