Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervising cold store warehouse operations and supporting daily workflow.
  • Leading, motivating and developing warehouse staff.

  • Using Excel and Outlook to manage reporting and communication.
  • Working within a cold store environment.

Experience Required:

  • Supervisory experience within a warehouse, stores or manufacturing environment.
  • Counterbalance Forklift Licence essential.
  • Reach Truck Licence desirable.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly Outlook and Excel.
  • Ability to work with Excel formulas and performance metrics.
  • Warehouse or Manufacturing Stores experience essential.
  • Comfortable working in a cold store environment.

Details & Package:

  • Starting base salary of £33,000 p.a.
  • Increasing to £35,000 following successful probation completion.
  • Realistic earnings of £40,000 to £45,000 per annum with overtime.

Setting Out Engineer – Sizewell C Marine Package

The Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Setting Out Engineer to join a busy delivery team working on the Marine package at Sizewell C.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with strong setting out and surveying experience to work on one of the UK’s largest and most significant infrastructure projects.

Marine or tunnelling experience would be highly desirable, although candidates with strong civil engineering setting out experience and the right technical background will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out accurate setting out and surveying activities across the marine works package.
  • Interpret construction drawings, specifications and project requirements.
  • Establish and maintain accurate survey control and site reference points.
  • Work closely with Site Managers, Engineers, Supervisors and subcontractors to ensure works are delivered to specification.
  • Complete and maintain relevant project documentation, including RAMS, ITPs, inspection records and quality paperwork.
  • Undertake checks and measurements to ensure construction activities meet required tolerances.
  • Identify and report any discrepancies or issues with setting out, drawings or construction works.
  • Support the wider site team with technical and engineering requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of completed works and survey information.
  • Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with site health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working as a Setting Out Engineer / Site Engineer / Surveyor on major construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong setting out and surveying experience.
  • Experience working with construction drawings and specifications.
  • Good understanding of RAMS, ITPs, quality documentation and site paperwork.
  • Marine or tunnelling experience preferred.
  • Experience within major civil engineering, infrastructure or construction projects.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a busy site environment.
  • UK citizenship or existing Right to Work in the UK is essential.
  • Must be able to successfully complete the required Sizewell C vetting process.

The Opportunity

Our client is seeking an experienced Marine Works Surveyor to join a major onshore/offshore infrastructure project at Sizewell C. This is an excellent opportunity to work on one of the UK’s largest and most technically challenging civil engineering projects, supporting the delivery of complex marine, tunnelling and heavy infrastructure works.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering accurate engineering survey support across a range of construction activities, working closely with engineering, construction and client teams to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day surveying and engineering activities across allocated sections of work.
  • Carry out high-accuracy setting out and surveying using GPS, Total Stations and associated survey equipment.
  • Prepare and review RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements) and ITPs (Inspection and Test Plans).
  • Support construction activities across marine works, tunnelling operations, shaft construction and heavy civil engineering packages.
  • Provide survey control for Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) operations, shaft excavation, marine structures and associated infrastructure.
  • Establish and maintain survey control networks and monitor construction tolerances.
  • Produce and maintain accurate as-built surveys and survey records.
  • Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with project specifications, quality standards and programme requirements.
  • Liaise directly with the end client, subcontractors and project stakeholders.
  • Monitor progress and provide technical support to site teams.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety and environmental procedures.
  • Assist with quality inspections, documentation and reporting.
  • Support planning and coordination of construction activities throughout the project lifecycle.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a Marine Works Surveyor, Engineering Surveyor or Site Surveyor on major civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of RAMS and ITPs.
  • Proven experience carrying out precise engineering setting out.
  • Experience using Total Stations, GPS and modern surveying equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently with clients and site teams.
  • Strong understanding of health, safety and quality procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced project environment.

Highly Desirable Experience

Candidates with experience in any of the following will be highly regarded:

  • Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) operations
  • Shaft construction and deep excavation works
  • Tunnelling projects (NATM, SCL or TBM)
  • Marine and offshore infrastructure
  • Ports, jetties and coastal engineering
  • Heavy civils and major infrastructure projects
  • Nuclear projects
  • Temporary Works
  • Large concrete structures
  • Utilities, rail or highways infrastructure
