Customer Service Representative (Working From Home)

Major Recruitment are currently recruiting for customer service representatives to work from home for one of the UKs largest independent research and analytics agencies.

The purpose of the role will be to provide excellent customer service to the public on different campaigns, which could include:-

  • Repair work carried out by the waterboard and feedback on the work after completion
  • housing associations looking for feedback
  • feedback to other regulatory bodies to improve their service.

Please note you will be working from home so you will need to have your own office setup – laptop or desktop computer with 4GB Ram and a 4 thread CPU. 8mbps download and 5mbps upload internet speeds. You will also need your own headset.

Working Hours and Pay Rate:-

  • Part-Time – 22 hours per week
  • Working 4 weekdays 4pm till 8pm and Saturday 10am till 4pm each week
  • £9.90 per hour
  • Overtime may be available
  • Bonus potential
  • Immediate start

Customer Service Advisor

Due to continued growth and success, they have created a role for a highly motivated service driven individual to join their Customer Service team.

You will be responsible for handling enquires over the phone, on email, from web enquiries and through online chats. This role will suit an experienced waste professional. If you have experience in the waste industry that would be an advantage but not essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • To provide an ‘Unforgettable’ service to our incoming enquiries via, email, live chat and on the telephone
  • Convert incoming enquiries into long lasting customers
  • Use your industry knowledge and experience to answer queries, deal with incoming sales enquiries and provide the customer with a solution to meet their needs
  • Manage, analyse, organise, and update relevant customer account records
  • Administrative tasks to ensure the effectiveness of the operational system from start to finish


  • A good level of waste management awareness and experience
  • Accurate and efficient administrative skills
  • Empathetic communicator, able to see things from the other person’s point of view but also a strong ability to positively influence others
  • A team player who wants to develop and contribute to the success of our business
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Excellent literacy skills – accurate spelling and grammar
  • Good numeracy skills – be able to calculate payments, add, subtract and apply basic percentages
  • Able to bring new ideas and support our continuous improvement program
  • Knowledge of waste management and a broad environmental awareness will be a distinct advantage

  • Providing 1st line technical support for a range of key clients

Customer Service Advisor

About the role:

Reporting to the Customer Service Manager, this role provides a first point of contact for customers placing orders, following up the progress of orders, or making any other order related enquiries. You will deliver consistent, efficient order management across multiple channels, establishing and maintaining effective relationships with internal / external customers, peers, and management and the 3rd party suppliers.

Escalating all potential customer service issues through the logistics management team to resolve and communicate to the appropriate internal contacts

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Answer all calls in a timely, polite and professional manner
  • Act as a central point of contact to process customer orders according to their agreed lead-times
  • Provide a central point of contact for first call resolution on distribution queries
  • Capture and manage all orders for allocated customers, ensuring these are processed efficiently and accurately, and to company deadlines
  • Liaise with Supply Chain on stock availability and delivery queries.
  • Feedback to customer’s information regarding stock availability upon receipt of orders where necessary
  • Ensure customers and the sales team are kept informed of order progress and of any changes to the order delivery schedules, through the logistics escalation process
  • Investigate and report order discrepancies and failed deliveries, work with the logistics team to resolve any issues
  • Liaise with the customer and the Commercial team to eliminate delivery refusals
  • Manage stock returns in liaison with the customer and the third party distribution provider
  • Monitor and resolve outstanding orders on a daily basis
  • Ensure master data within function is maintained accurately
  • Investigate order discrepancies and failed deliveries, report issue detail and work with the logistics team to resolve any issues.

Skills and Competencies:

  • PC Literate, including competent in MS Excel
  • Numerate and possessing basic financial awareness
