Proposals Engineer

An experienced Proposals Engineer with experience of working with Electrical Transmission equipment or switchgear is needed by an Engineering company near Derby

Within the commercial team you will perform a broad range of internal and external functions that support the proposals process including enquiry logging, collation of technical and commercial information, liaison with clients and suppliers and the preparation / submittal of proposal documentation to the client

Your main tasks will be to: –

* Review and evaluate enquiry documentation
* Identify, clarify and resolve any queries / discrepancies relating to the enquiry documentation with the client
* Request relevant and required technical and commercial information from appropriate functions
* Perform proposal review
* Collate all relevant and required technical and commercial information
* Produce cost estimates using company standard templates
* Prepare and submit the proposal documentation to the client.
* Liaise with client during bid clarification process and obtain clarification from appropriate internal functions where necessary
* Monitor and progress enquiries.
* Maintain database of enquires and report on weekly basis
* Assist in the inputs to and maintenance of client pre-qualification and registration requests

Other duties will include monitoring enquiries submitted and establishing an awareness of the current market situation.

YOUR SKILLS

The ideal candidate will have 3 years experience as a Proposals Engineer and be able to demonstrate the ability to gather technical and commercial information from subject matter experts and produce a detailed bid, proposal or tender response

A good knowledge of commercial contracts would be ideal. You will need a good level of computer literacy, good organisation skills and attention to detail as you will need to ensure that proposals and tenders have all the necessary information completed prior to submission

CCTV / Security Systems Service Engineer

A Service Engineer is needed to install, service, test, and commission commercial security systems (CCTV, Intruder Alarms, Access Control etc) throughout the Midlands

Reporting to the Service Manager – you will carry out routine service work on various makes of security systems with installation and refitting. Responsive breakdown callouts are also required from engineers on a rota basis.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Service existing customers systems and install new systems (Galaxy, Texecom, Avigilon, Synetics, Paxton, Salto and Eaton among others)
  • Attend breakdowns to customers sites for reactive maintenance.
  • Test and Commission Products offered by the company.
  • Support the sales team.
  • Liaise with customers on site regarding technical and progress work.
  • Be on call 1 week in 5 as per the company rota

YOUR SKILLS

  • The successful candidate will have previous experience of servicing CCTV, Access Control and Intruder Alarm systems.
  • Ideally qualified to a minimum of C & G Part 1, 2 7 3, HNC/ONC in electrical/electronic engineering.
  • Good diagnostic and fault-finding skills
  • IEE 18th Edition and IPAF preferred
  • Hold a current ECS or CSCS card
  • A Full UK Driving Licence is essential
  • Excellent Communication Skills

Project Engineer – SCADA / Control Systems

A Project Engineer with experience of delivering SCADA / Control Systems solutions is sought by a Tyneside Engineering business

Working in a Projects team you will be responsible for managing the design, integration, testing and commissioning of automation projects throughout the entire project life-cycle.

Salary is up to £50K + benefits

The role will involve interpreting clients’ requirements, to design, engineer, integrate, test, and deliver the solution in a professional and timely manner, interfacing with customers on all technical elements and schedules and engaging with subcontractors and external suppliers for the delivery of projects.

Key responsibilities will be to: –

  • Designing, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems in automation projects.
  • Produce specifications / drawings and agree with customers.
  • Integrate and configure software, hardware, communications, and external devices.
  • Drive projects to achieve an “on-time” project delivery, within budget.
  • Project engineering, configuration, integration, and test.
  • Assist in the preparation and approvals of bills of materials and manufacturing drawings and where necessary interface with suppliers.
  • Prepare project documentation such as design specifications, factory acceptance tests, site acceptance tests and operation and maintenance manuals.
  • Participate in project meetings and assist in the scheduling of activities.
  • Undertake FAT, SAT, site installation and commissioning activities where necessary.

To succeed in this varied and interesting role you will need the following skills, experience and personal qualities

  • ONC/HNC in Electrical / Electronic / Software Engineering or related subject
  • Proven track record of delivering projects, preferably within SCADA and Automation sectors; ideally within the LV/MV/HV Electricity Transmission & Distribution Industry.
  • Knowledge of communications systems and SCADA protocols such as Modbus, DNP, and IEC 61850.
  • Experience of implementation using PLC logic.
  • Experience of configuration of HMI software
  • Ability to work independently and within a small team environment.
  • Excellent internal and external communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Be willing to travel for site testing and commissioning work when required.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Can-do’ attitude – enthusiastic and willing to learn.

Electrical Field Installation & Service Technician

An Electrical Installation Technician is needed to install, service, test, and commission Variable Speed Drives and Control panels on sites throughout the South East

Reporting to the Service Manager – you will carry out routine service work on all makes of Variable Speed Drives, Soft Starts, with installation and refitting of new for old. Responsive breakdown callouts are also required from engineers on a rota basis. Assist with the Hire business with regards to installations and commissioning on site and ongoing operation of installed equipment.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Service Existing Customers Drives.
  • Assist in small installations of MCC’s, New for Old Variable Speed Drivees and Soft starters.
  • Attend breakdowns to customers sites for reactive maintenance.
  • Test and Commission Products offered by the company.
  • Mark up drawings with modifications.
  • Support the sales team.
  • Liaise with customers on site regarding technical and progress work.
  • You will be required to operate within a rolling rate basis for 24/7 cover.

YOUR SKILLS

  • The successful candidate will be commercially aware and have a strong engineering background.
  • Applicants will ideally have experience of various industry sectors such as, food & beverage, pharmaceutical, paper & pulp, petrochemical, chemical manufacturing, and mining & aggregate companies.
  • Ideally qualified to a minimum of C & G Part 1, 2 7 3, HNC/ONC in electrical/electronic engineering.
  • IEE 18th Edition
  • Inspections & Testing Certificate – Desirable.
  • Hold a current JIB Skills Card or CCSC.
  • Safety Passport.
  • Have good working knowledge of 240 – 690 LV, single and 3 phase systems etc.
  • Direct online starting and Start Delta Starting knowledge is essential.
  • PC knowledge is preferred as software programmes are used on certain products for commissioning.

Electrical Site Services Technician

An Electrical Service Technician is needed to service and maintain Transformers and Switchgear on various sites

You will be responsible for delivering after-sales maintenance contracts and customer services and will involve visiting customer sites and conducting the repair, maintenance and upgrade of
customer private networks and their assets.

The role and responsibilities include:
* Assembling distribution transformers and associated items (LV/HV switch, Ring Main Units etc)
* On-site installations.
* Fault finding and resolving after care services and warranty issues with the equipment.
* Completing maintenance activity for both supplied equipment and customers own HV & LV networks and assets.
* Basic site testing requirements of equipment, ensure adherence to standards and ensure safe operation of all devices.
* Breakdown support to Customers as required
* Taking transformer oil samples and arranging analysis.
* Work and collaborate alongside other contractors whilst on site.
* Completing site reports for work conducted and identifying any further recommendations.
* Ensuring method and risk assessments are completed and followed as necessary

The role will be mainly site based with regular office-based visits.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate:
* HNC/ HND or similar qualification in Electrical Engineering
* Ability to work on their own initiative and as part of a small busy team
* Previous history within the Transformer/ HV, LV switchgear/ HV contracting industry
* Self motivated, conscientious and enthusiastic
* Candidates should be highly computer literate with excellent communication skills both in written and verbal format, able to write comprehensive emails, quotations and reports.
* Keen, flexible, adaptable with a positive attitude
* Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel & Word in particular)
* Ideally able to use ERP systems (Emax) and produce reports and quotations.
