Senior Electronics Design Engineer

A Senior Electronics Design Engineer is needed to work in a busy R&D team in the West Midlands

This exciting position is for an experienced Electronics Design Engineer, to be responsible for designing and developing bespoke solutions throughout the design cycle from concept to implementation to meet customer needs. As a key member of the team you have the following responsibilities

  • Evaluate and interpret project technical requirements to develop concept architectures / designs
  • Design and develop hardware solutions, from concept through to qualification / implementation / integration
  • Ensure all customer requirements are met throughout the development process, to demonstrate fulfilment of Verification and Validation activities
  • Support the development of test strategies and plans for formal qualification testing including shock, vibration, EMC, Safety etc.)
  • Produce and maintain any required design documentation
  • Play an active role in key milestone events such as Design Reviews, both internal and customer facing
  • Support the build of initial prototypes / qualification systems

To succeed within the role you will ned some of the following skills and personal qualities: –

  • Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field, or significant relative experience in a similar role
  • Experience in an Engineering environment, ideally defence-related
  • Designing products for harsh environments – i.e. shock, vibration, thermal extremes
  • Extensive knowledge of Electrical / Electronic / Computer components and systems
  • Knowledge of Mechanical Engineering fundamentals, processes, and standards
  • Good understanding of EMC, particularly in design
  • Experience of designing for longevity and useability / through-life support, for example consideration of Human Factors and Integrated Logistics Support requirements
  • Competent at producing accurate and professional documentation
  • Understands the need for configuration control, change management and security marking aspects of all types of documentation and drawings
  • Experienced in managing own work and able to prioritise tasks to meet milestones
  • Working in a multi-disciplined environment (mechanical, electrical, electronic, safety, human factors, security, software etc.)
  • Good attention to detail, conscientious, and takes pride in work
  • Able to work as part of a team as well as on own initiative
  • Knowledge of EU/UK safety and CE regulations would be an asset

Manufacturing Engineer (Electronics)

A Manufacturing Engineer with a background in Electronics Manufacturing is needed by a growing Teesside based company

  • Deliver all elements of Manufacturing Engineering through the New Product Introduction process in line with company and product quality standards, including ISO 9001.
  • Deliver robust designs and processes to the Manufacturing team, ensuring estimated product yield, quality and labour times are achievable.
  • Work as part of a cross functional design team, champion and execute design for manufacturing from initial design concept through to product release.
  • Engage and encourage the use of continuous improvement tools and champion lean manufacturing throughout the Operations team.
  • Bring a proactive and process driven approach to identifying areas of improvement in processes with regards to quality, cost and days to manufacture.
  • Specify and procure new equipment in line with the demands of new products and manufacturing processes.
  • Contribute to resource estimates for new projects.
  • Manage time effectively across multiple NPI projects and clearly communicate progress against plan to the wider team.
  • Design and input manufacturing routings using the MRP system.
  • Develop detailed and accurate work instructions in CAD and written documents.

The successful candidate will be degree qualified and have 2 years experience as a Manufacturing / Production Engineer within an Electronics or Electrical Manufacturing environment. You will also be practised in root cause investigation and problem solving such as 8D, competent in Electronic fault finding and manufacturing tasks such as soldering and electrical wiring and have a strong knowledge of continuous improvements techniques, such as Lean Manufacturing

Business Development Manager (IT PC / Networking Solutions)

A Business Development Manager with experience of selling Computing and Networking solutions is sought by a Midlands based technology company.

You’ll have responsibility for developing new and existing accounts within key market segments and be working with innovative, dynamic, and exciting customers that are developing new technologies that shape our everyday lives.

The Role

  • Building up an excellent relationship with our customers in the UK and focus markets.
  • Respond quickly and adequately to enquiries and win opportunities.
  • Provide a consultative technical solution to meet the customers’ opportunity needs.
  • Hold online and in-person meetings, demos and sales presentations with existing and prospective customers.
  • Manage the sales process from qualifying and quoting to negotiation and closing.
  • Grow new business from within existing and target customers.
  • Preparation of proposals
  • Meet or exceed the annual bookings target.
  • Adherence to all GDPR & quality policies and standards outlined by the company.
  • You will be required to be flexible in this role and must be prepared to perform other tasks and undertake additional duties.

You will have experience of dealing directly with OEM customers, be able to identify business opportunities, negotiate, and close business deals, whilst maintaining an extensive knowledge of our products and the market. You will have a consultative approach to sales, be a confident relationship builder and have prior experience selling electronic and computing products or solutions.

You will be self-motivated, driven, pro-active and have an enthusiastic, positive mindset and a strong interest in high-technology IT solutions including communications, networking and AI technology
