Counterbalance Forklift Driver

Major Recruitment – Castle Donington

We are seeking to strengthen our team by recruiting Warehouse Counterbalance FLT Operatives to support our client based in Tamworth

If you want to be part of a highly focused environment, where attention to detail, excellent skills and diligence is required this could be the role for you

You will be required to operate MHE equipment with the opportunity for upskilling and training provided on clamp attachments

DUTIES:

  • Ensure stock is stored, handled and transported securely and safely when using MHE
  • Ensure all inbound, outbound stock movement processes are recorded and reported correctly
  • Assist with regular and spot bond checks and reporting any accidents
  • Ensure the Company’s Health and Safety policies are adhered to
  • Maintain a clean and tidy working environment

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Warehouse experience
  • Counterbalance Forklift Experience (Inhouse or Certified)
  • Manual Handling

SCHEDULE:

  • ROTATIONAL SHIFTS 6AM-2PM / 2PM-10PM
  • 06:00-14:00 – £11.50ph
  • 14:00-22:00 – £11.50ph + 20% SHIFT ALLOWANCE FROM (18:00-22:00) (£13.80 FOR LAST 4 HOURS)

My Client is well established, industry leading chemical manufacturing company. Based in Newton Aycliffe, they have seen year on year success, with further growth plans for 2022. The offer a range of services, which has given the company opportunities to service a multitude of sectors, with a client base stretching across the globe. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a FLT Driver to join their team on a Temporary Basis.

The role will be to cover a day shift Monday to Friday 8:00am-4:30pm

Your primary responsibility is to safely handle pallets and bulk containers and drummed chemicals from the production facility into the warehouse and wrapping finished products,

Main Duties:

  • Control and operate packaging equipment (i.e hand push pallet trucks / banding and strapping machines)
  • Label and top seal drummed finished products, band and wrap, label IBC’s and move to designated areas of the warehouse
  • Ensure that the ovens are loaded with any viscous materials which may be required for manufacture
  • Use a forklift truck to move material within production area during manufacture and to remove finished goods to the warehouse whilst ensuring proper stock rotation
  • Offload lorries and road tankers and ensure that the associated paperwork is completed sufficiently
  • Load lorries and containers with the appropriate finished product and batch number according to the dispatch paperwork
  • Ensure that new deliveries of raw materials are labeled with the appropriate code and stacked in the warehouse correctly
  • Band and shrink wrap pallets of drums and label with shipping marks according to the customer requirements
  • Inspect the forklift truck for faults each morning prior to use
  • Attend a Forklift truck refresher course every three years
  • Always maintain acceptable housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and working environment
  • Operate all equipment and machinery in a safe manner
  • Assist in physical stock checks
  • Work in accordance with Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental procedures
  • All other duties deemed necessary for the benefit of the company by management

Role Requirements:

  • Must have experience with FLT Counterbalance
  • Basic chemical handling knowledge (Desirable)
  • Attention to detail
  • Numerical and basic computer skills
  • Have a willingness to learn
  • Be willing to help in other departments

Our client is a well-established, multi-site, food manufacturer based in the heart of North Yorkshire. Based across their sites, they have seen impressive growth year on year, with further growth plans for 2021. They supply their products into brand named manufacturers that supplies most retailers in the UK. An opportunity for an FLT Driver to join their team on a temporary to permanent basis at their Leeming Bar Site.

This opportunity as an FLT Driver, gives you the chance to work with one of the most successful food manufacturers in the region.

As an FLT Driver, you will join their back shift on a permanent back shift 2:40pm-11:30pm

Production Operative Duties:

  • Daily meetings with the team leader or supervisor
  • To help prioritise workloads within the department / designated warehouse area
  • To deal with the movement of products within the warehouse, using a Counterbalance FLT
  • Picking and packing duties when required, and taking instructions from supervisors and management
  • Loading and unloading wagons
  • Maintain the company’s health & safety standards at all times
  • To follow all legal and company requirements to the use of forklifts in the Warehouse

Role Requirements:

  • Experience of working in a warehouse environment
  • An in date Counterbalance Licence (RTITB / ITTSAR)
  • Must be punctual
  • Experience of working to targets
  • Communicates effectively on all levels
  • Professional attitude to work
  • Able to work with own initiative
