Category Manager- Food

  • Be an expert in monitoring and analysing market performance, identifying gaps and opportunities for category growth
  • Get involved in supporting preparation for customer meetings and NPD sell-in stories, ensuring that we understand the strategy of each of our customers
  • Producing standardised monthly and weekly reports which will be used to make informed decisions for the future of the brand
  • Responding to ad-hoc queries and requests regarding KPIs and category performance from internal colleagues and external customers to enable decisions to be taken regarding the category
  • Manage the range review process for all key retail partners, providing innovative range, promotional and merchandising recommendations
  • Identify current and future dynamics and trends, measuring their impact and sharing these insights with the innovation, marketing and commercial teams

You will have:

  • The ability to sort, interpret and manipulate numbers; including understanding visual trends from charts and other diagnostics
  • Ability to turn data into exciting stories and present to senior stakeholders confidently
  • Enthusiastic, self-starter attitude
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • An interest in the wider consumer market and a desire to develop and progress in this role
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience and understanding of the UK grocery industry
  • Experience of using retailer data and/or accessing customer data sources is vital (i.e. IRI, Nielsen, Kantar, Dunnhumby)
