Trainee Technician £28k – £30k inclusive of shift premium

AM/PM rotating
AM – Mon – Thu 6am – 2pm Fri 6am – 11am
PM – Mon – Thu 2pm – 10pm Fri 11am – 4pm

Key Responsibilities
- Assist in responding appropriately to unexpected and/or continuing situations, which develop in the work environment.
- Assist the team to deliver departmental KPI’s and reduce outstanding work.
- Follow up orders and ensure spare parts are ordered which require fitting to the machines.
- Assist in analysing history on equipment and breakdowns. Provide technical assistance to ensure shortest possible machine downtime, recording and creating manuals & drawings to help early machine recovery.
- Attend departmental meetings with team members to discuss projects, issues, team briefings etc.
- Process, review, and expedite work orders, modification and equipment drawings, schematics, check sheets, job instructions, and calibrations records.
Skills & Abilities
- An understanding of maintenance policies, procedures, and terms.
- Project management understanding with an emphasis to improve reliability.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to undertake a high level of activity.
- Respond effectively and perform basic arithmetic accurately and quickly.
- Good IT skills
- Good organisational and time management skills.
Qualifications
- Recognised engineering apprenticeship.
- Minimum ONC or City & Guilds level 3 or equivalent (Technical Certificate, etc.)
- Time served apprenticeship
- Familiarisation with the use of machine tools
