Project Manager (Cleanrooms)

European Project Manager

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced, organised, diligent and professional candidate with a strong background in Project Management or roles with similar levels of organisational skill and responsibility.

The role involves successfully delivering turnkey construction projects and a variety of other exciting, high-quality controlled environment builds for a UK SME that is looking to grow its existing mainland Europe operations

Working as part of a supportive and flexible projects team your main responsibilities will be initially focused around a couple of large-scale projects in Germany and some smaller ones throughout Europe.

Your main responsibilities will involve commercial delivery, design management, scheduling and resource / site management. Key tasks will include: –

  • Obtaining quotes from supply chain and improve on quotations where possible with discount or competitive tender and organise and order all materials required for the project.
  • Liaise with suppliers regularly to ensure delivery dates are achieved.
  • Schedule all labour for projects – covering all structural, electrical, cleaning and commissioning tasks.
  • Manage design process communication – obtain drawings from client.
  • Organise ‘as-built” drawings for end of project and issue to client with O&M
  • Compile project schedule in MS Project and issue weekly alongside reports
  • Manage and supervise sub-contracted resource to meet agreed timelines and ensure any variations, if required, are passed directly on to client.
  • Manage suppliers to ensure goods are delivered on time and to agreed quality standard.
  • Manage complaints if necessary.
  • Responsibility for site Health & Safety and CDM compliance
  • Management of site to include waste management, hire equipment, materials storage, tool storage and charging, site welfare, parking and signing-in process.
  • Organise RAMS from sub-contracted labour and suppliers
  • Conduct monthly site walkaround and agree invoice schedule with client.

YOUR SKILLS

The successful candidate will need a proven track record of successful delivery of complex construction projects of more than £1 million and of delivering multiple projects at one time and managing own workflow. You will need to be able to read and correctly interpret CAD drawings, Bills of Quantities / Materials and be able to manage staff and subcontractors to ensure time and budget are met. You will need to be proficient with MS Project / Office and have excellent communication skills

An Engineering qualification and experience of AutoCAD or Revit would be an advantage

This is a fully remote role alternating weekly with site work or working from home so you must be happy to travel. Salary to £70,000 p/a with KPI bonuses potential to reach £100K p/a

A Contracts Manager with a background in construction or building services is sought by an established Suffolk based company to join their team

Working for a successful and growing business you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of construction and building services contracts.

Contracts Manager Position Overview

  • Management of subcontractor selection and on site progress
  • Strict adherence to the highest levels of Quality and Health & Safety
  • Ensuring that Management are kept updated with site progress and commercial issues
  • Proactively assess, review and mitigate commercial and contractual risks
  • Ensure that a robust system of site records for all labour, plant, materials, staff, etc are kept as support for cost substantiation in the event of change and or delays to the contract works
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for variations and additions on a monthly basis in an efficient and timely manner and in accordance with the contract
  • Assist in the preparation of project final accounts
  • Actively participate in site project meetings and ensure that all commercial matters are discussed and problems investigated and resolved

Contracts Manager Position Requirements

  • Experience working within the Construction / M&E or Building Services sector
  • At least 3 years’ experience as a Contracts Manager
  • Previous Contracts Management experience
  • Experience in a wide variety of contracts,
  • The ability to prioritise multiple concurrent projects under stringent time, quality and budget
  • Ability to read and understand technical specifications and drawings
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 18001 & CE Marking
  • A conscientious and a self-disciplined approach
