Major Recruitment have a brilliant opportunity for an experienced Category Manager! You will be joining a large Food Manufacturing company based in Leeds, however, the role would require you to travel between all Company sites.

As a Category Manager you will conduct regular reviews of the products available within each of the categories – maintaining photographic images for each key customer to be used by the category teams.

As a Category Manager you will:

  • Primarily responsible for Specific Accounts (TBC based on Structure)
  • Category Advisor on Top 4 accounts for Instant Hot Snacks with weekly reporting
  • Utilise category, shopper and consumer trends and translate into actionable insights which deliver mutually beneficial growth for both the business and retailer
  • Be an independent and impartial lens for the business and retailer
  • Ownership and evaluation of Range Reviews, Range Rationalisation, Promotional Strategy, and Delist Recommendations
  • Champion and Implement Category Strategy in their respective retailers
  • Support Product Development with Own Label Trends on core categories such as Home Baking
  • Develop and deliver key monthly category dashboards that are circulated to the retailers using Nielsen data
  • NPD tracking reports to monitor the success of key brand launches
  • Price and Promotional tracking to be updated as a minimum at every retailer promotional period
  • Support the Marketing Team to provide trade ready presentations in order to ensure a strong sell in of the company’s Brand and Own Label Portfolio
  • Support the Brand Team during brand planning and large projects, supplying them with key market data using Nielsen Data
  • Conduct regular store visits in order to collate key market insight including promotions, merchandising changes, NPD and cross category insight, ensuring these are maintained
  • Maintain a live Gap Analysis & pricing update
  • Maintain an up-to-date live space audit of the key retailer

Skills required as a Category Manager:

  • Previous Category Management experience
  • Working knowledge of market data such as Nielsen, Kantar, and IRI
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • IT literate, able to work confidently with Microsoft Office (e-mail, Word, Excel, etc).
  • Strong data interpretation and analysis skills
  • Ability to turn data into actionable and engaging insight
  • Strong and engaging presentation skills
  • Valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle
