Job Title: MIG Welder

Location: Hixon, Stafford

Salary: £14.00 – £17.00 per hour (Depending on experience)

Temp-to-Perm, Immediate starts available!

Major Recruitment are currently recruiting for a MIG Welder on behalf of an award-winning supplier of sheet metals. Our client specailises in fabricating sheet metals, metal design and engineering services. This is a fantastic temp-to-perm opportunity for any MIG Welder seeking a competitive salary and long-term job stability.

Key Responsibilities of the MIG Welder:

  • MIG welding mild steel ranging from 1mm – 20mm thickness
  • Competently using jigs to a safe standard
  • Maintaining health and safety guidelines at all times
  • Reading technical drawings to ensure all products are built to the correct measurements.

Skills and Experience required:

  • Excellent organisational skills and time keeping
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work alone and as part of a team
  • 2+ years’ experience in MIG Welding

The successful MIG Welder will be entitled to:

Monday – Friday. (07:00am – 15:00pm)

Calling all Steel Fixers! Immediate starts available! Major Recruitment are currently looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our client in Alfreton as a Steel Fixer. As a Steel Fixer you will play a key part in producing Precast concrete products at one of the top concrete manufacturing companies in the UK!

Responsibilities of the Steel Fixer:

  • Ensure all work is carried out to the requirements of quality, efficiency and health and safety
  • Ability to operate machinery (training provided)
  • Able to competently read simple drawings
  • Carry out inspections on your work to ensure it matches the drawing
  • Following health and safety procedures at all times

About you:

  • Experience in a previous role as a Steel Fixer (desireable)
  • Bar Cutting and Bending (awareness of British Standards and Euro Code limits)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings (Specifically Bar Schedules and Shape Codes)
  • Angle Grinder/Abrasive Wheels (training provided)

Training/Qualification;

  • Educated to NVQ2 or equivalent (desirable)
