About the Role
As a Bank Support Worker, no two days are the same. You will work flexibly across a range of settings, supporting children and young people to achieve positive outcomes and reach their full potential.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Supporting young people to attend education, appointments, and activities
- Encouraging independence and the development of essential life skills
- Promoting engagement in hobbies, interests, and community activities
- Providing emotional support and reassurance during challenging situations
- Acting as a positive and consistent role model
- Promoting safety, wellbeing, and positive behaviour
- Maintaining accurate records and reporting information appropriately
- Working collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals
Most importantly, you will help create an environment where young people feel safe, valued, respected, and supported.
About You
We are looking for individuals who:
- Have previous experience working with children and young people
- Have supported children with Learning Disabilities, Autism, complex needs, and behaviours that may challenge
- Can build positive, professional relationships based on trust and respect
- Understand safeguarding principles and child protection responsibilities
- Are reliable, adaptable, and able to work independently
- Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Remain calm, patient, and solution-focused in challenging situations
- Are passionate about supporting young people to achieve positive outcomes
Essential Requirements
- Enhanced DBS registered on the DBS Update Service (Portable DBS)
- Previous experience supporting children and young people
- Right to work in the UK
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends where required
