We are currently recruiting for an Engineering Manager to be based in Greater London within the food industry.

As an Engineering Manager you will be responsible to lead and champion site safety in terms of systems compliance, behavior, and reporting, and a “safety first” approach is embedded within the team. Ensure that all areas of the factory serviced by the Engineering Team meets the requirements of the customer in terms of quality and service and that the cost of doing so meets or exceeds the requirements of the business plan.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure all safety issues or hazards that are reported are swiftly actioned
  • Develop and maintain engineering KPIs linked to delivery of strategic plan
  • Plan and deliver installations to deliver benefits sustainably
  • Manage 3rd party contractors
  • Control Engineering Budget
  • Maintain all site facilities
  • Flag issues as necessary and provide solutions within remit
  • Know numbers across all KPIs to effectively identify issues and take corrective action
  • Ensure effective cross shift communication
  • Attend all relevant forums to represent team and input to direction
  • Review all KPIs on specified frequency and take appropriate action

This role is a full-time, working {Contractual Hours Per Week} hours per week. The shift pattern is Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.

The ideal candidate

  • UK Qualifications that are supplemented with experience obtained with an apprenticeship: ONC Electrical / or C & G 2360 parts 1 and 2 / or NVQ level 3 with C&G 2351 level 2 or 3 / or equivalent as verified by C&G
  • Experience with thermoforming, flow wrap, metal detectors and packaging machinery
  • Competency with 3ph / 1ph motor control is essential
  • Experience of a fast-paced FMCG working with chilled products
  • Experience & knowledge of pneumatics, refrigeration & factory services is desirable
  • Team player with good communication skills
  • Previous management of junior engineers and the ability to coach, develop and lead your team to perform consistently at a high standard.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and demonstrate good problem solving and decision making skills
  • Competent computer skills required
