Major Recruitment are looking to hire a Labourer (Fettling/Assembly) to join our client, a leading fabrication company based in Nottingham!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Producing fettled parts to specification and schedule by using a grinder to smooth off rough edges and surfaces of cut and welded metal parts. Dress welds and grain material to a good standard using power tools and various abrasives.
  • Assembling and packing stoves and components according to assembly instructions and quality standards.
  • Inspecting parts for defects and ensuring they meet quality standards before assembly or packing.
  • Re-working returned goods and internal non-conforming parts as required to meet quality specifications.
  • Carrying out basic tasks with hands, including handling and manipulating materials effectively.
  • Willingness to undergo training for all tasks undertaken. Training will be provided for all aspects of fettling and assembly work.
  • Once trained on fettling tasks, candidates may also be assigned various assembly tasks around the factory as needed.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience in fettling or assembly preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
  • Ability to use hand tools effectively, particularly grinders for fettling work.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions accurately.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move parts as required.
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and a willingness to learn and develop new skills.

Working Hours and Pay:

  • AM/PM Rotating
  • Monday to Friday
  • x2 06:00-14:00 / x2 14:00-22:00
  • 8 Hour Shift 40 hours per week
  • Overtime paid at time and half over 40 hours
  • 10 min and 30 min break PAID
  • £11.44 + £1 Shift Allowance (Rate Negotiable DOE on experience)
