Mobile Plant Fitter
Location: Burntwood
Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 per annum
Full-Time | Permanent | Onsite
We are recruiting for an experienced Mobile Plant Fitter to join a growing and well-established plant hire business operating across the West Midlands.
This role would suit someone with strong mechanical and fault-finding experience, ideally from a plant, heavy equipment, HGV, agricultural, or vehicle breakdown/roadside repair background. Experience responding to breakdowns and working under pressure would be highly beneficial.
The role involves servicing, maintaining, and repairing a range of construction plant equipment across customer sites and workshop locations.

The Role
- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on a range of construction plant equipment including excavators, dumpers, and associated machinery
- Conduct routine servicing and preventative maintenance
- Attend breakdowns across customer sites within the West Midlands
- Complete pre-hire inspections and safety checks
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and job paperwork
- Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety standards
- Work closely with the wider plant and operations team to minimise downtime
About You
- Previous experience working on vehicle breakdown, plant hire, construction, or heavy equipment sector
- Strong mechanical and fault-finding skills
- Experience with auto-electrics is highly advantageous
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Good understanding of workshop and on-site health & safety procedures
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Full UK Driving Licence essential
Desirable Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Construction Plant Maintenance & Repair
- CSCS Card
- Experience within the vehicle breakdown, plant hire, construction, or heavy equipment sector
