Pastoral Lead and Designated Safeguarding Lead
- Annual salary: £34,361 – £37,368 dependant on qualifications
- Plus £3000 Welcome bonus with SEN Experience*

- Hours:40 Hours per week
- Start time 8.15am – Finish time Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday 4.45pm. Thursday 5pm and Friday 4pm
School Staffing Solutions are recruiting a Pastoral Lead and Designated Safeguarding Lead to join a dedicated team at a SEN School, where they support students aged 11-16 with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) through a nurturing and inclusive approach. The staff empower young people to access the national curriculum in a way that works for them and to achieve meaningful vocational qualifications by the time they leave school.

Key Accountabilities:
- To development the improvement of individual and site practice around behaviour and safeguarding and be responsible for policy implementation of these elements
- To coordinate the effective implementation of the Attendance Policy.
- To provide rapid response to staff when a child is in need of additional support.
- To monitor and report on students out of class.
- To provide a physical presence on the school site during the school day, especially during breaks and lunch time.
- To pro-actively liaise with parents/carers
- To provide relevant behaviour and safeguarding training to staff through CPD.
- To provide support to students who are struggling to engage with classes and staff in cooperation with the clinical team with the aim of re-engagement in class.
- To provide data for SLT and Governors.
- To ensure that all relevant compliance has been completed with the support of the school business manager in the completion of educational visits (EVC’s)
- To be the school’s LAC Designated Lead
- To co-ordinate interventions taking whole school responsibility for targeted support on EHCPs.
What We’re Looking For:
- GCSE English & Maths (Grade 4/C or above)
- L3 in working with children and young people is highly desirable
- Qualifications in behavioural approaches or psychology would be desirable
- Knowledge and demonstrable experience of working with Children with SEMH/ASD
- Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection
- Experience of a range of approaches to managing and de-escalating challenging behaviours.
- Good appreciation and knowledge of health and safety, data protection principles and equal opportunities
