Platen Operator / Machine Operator – Training Provided
Location: Thame, Oxfordshire
Salary: Up to £19.00 per hour, depending on experience
Hours: 40 hours per week
Shifts: Monday-Friday 6:00am-2:00pm and Monday-Thursday 2:00pm-midnight
Parking: On-site parking
About the Role
We are looking for a Platen Operator / Machine Operator to join a busy production team based in Thame.
For an experienced Platen Operator, Platen Press Operator or Print Finishing Operator, the salary is up to £19.00 per hour, depending on experience.
The company is also happy to consider candidates with Machine Operator, Production Operator, Manufacturing or Assembly experience who are keen to learn. Full training will be provided, with the opportunity to increase your salary as you gain experience and become fully competent in the role.
The position involves operating and setting up platen presses and print finishing machinery to produce high-quality printed and packaging products.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate platen presses and print finishing machinery
- Carry out cutting, creasing, embossing and debossing
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments where required
- Follow job tickets, specifications and production instructions
- Carry out quality checks to ensure products meet required standards
- Identify and resolve minor machine or quality issues
- Carry out routine machine checks to minimise downtime and waste
- Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment
- Follow health & safety procedures at all times
- Work closely with the wider production team
About You
We are interested in speaking with candidates who have experience as a:
- Platen Operator / Platen Press Operator
- Print Finishing Operator
- Print Machine Operator
- Machine Operator
- Production Operator
- Manufacturing Operator
Experience with die cutting, cutting, creasing, embossing or debossing would be advantageous.
However, previous Platen experience isn’t essential.
If you have experience in assembly, machine operation, production or manufacturing and are practical, reliable and keen to learn, the company is willing to provide full training.
