Major Recruitment, in partnership with Polytec Group, are looking to recruit a Quality Manager on a permanent basis to join the team based in Telford.

As a Quality Manager you will manage all quality-related issues within the manufacturing plant (e.g. internal, supplier, customer and customer warranty). You will work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve quality issues that arise as quickly and efficiently as possible to prevent compromising quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities of a Quality Manager:

  • Identify root cause and instigate permanent corrective actions for product quality issues
  • Oversee product and process auditing
  • Ensure compliance and assist with adherence to the Quality Management system (IATF16949/ISO9001)
  • Manage Paint Lab to ensure robust – and KPI driven product test plan is in place
  • Monitor and report on quality – related key performance indicators including scrap monitoring, rework levels and cost of poor quality
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve quality issues that arise as quickly and efficiently as possible to prevent compromising quality and safety standards
  • Conduct benchmarking studies to determine best practices/designs and future trends

Skills required:

  • Experience at Quality Management level
  • Plastic and Paint background with a strong knowledge of aesthetic finishes
  • Automotive OEM knowledge – JLR/ Bentley an advantage
  • Demonstratable audit skills
  • Understanding of financial impacts and able to manage budgets
  • Strong Knowledge of management systems (IATF16949 / VDA / ISO) and core quality tools (PPAP, APQP, FMEA)
  • Strong people manager with the ability to coach, lead high performing teams
  • Data driven with a technical and analytical mindset
  • Excellent communication skills
  • IT literate, able to work confidently with Microsoft Office (e-mail, Word, Excel, etc).
  • Able to work to deadlines within a fast-paced / challenging environment and with a varied / full workload
