School Staffing Solutions are working with a school in Caerphilly who need an SEN Teacher.

They provide high quality learning experiences within a small, nurturing environment to secondary school aged children who have an IDP/ALN Statement and have ADHD and/or express behaviours that are challenging or inappropriate in a community setting. Class sizes are small. The staff to student ratio is usually 2:4 in all classes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, evidence-informed lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils, including those with SEND and trauma histories.
  • Use assessment data to monitor pupil progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Promote pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development through trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches.
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour and learning, consistent with the school’s behaviour policy and Staff Code of Conduct.
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants and specialist staff to provide effective support

About you:

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience teaching pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviour
  • Strong understanding of curriculum, assessment, and behaviour management in special education settings.
  • Previous Experience Teaching Maths and/or Science
  • QTS/QTLS qualification
  • Ability to plan, deliver, and assess effective teaching and learning
  • Resilience, empathy, adaptability, and passion for supporting vulnerable pupils
