Position Overview:

As a Shift Technician, you will play a pivotal role in providing technical support to the shift engineering team. Your responsibilities include reactive and proactive engineering work, with a focus on electrical engineering expertise. You will be instrumental in reducing engineering downtime, delivering maintenance plans, conducting root cause analyses, and coordinating training for fellow engineers. This role also entails maintaining preventative and planned maintenance schedules and leading continuous improvement initiatives. Effective communication is key to this role, ensuring a seamless flow of information within the engineering department and across other functions, all while adhering to company health, safety, and environmental guidelines.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Time served Electrical/Electronic Engineer
  • HNC or equivalent in a relevant discipline
  • Experience in an FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) environment and equipment
  • Electrical systems and installation experience and training
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience in training others
  • Proficiency in PC skills (Microsoft Office, CMMS, SAP)
  • Understanding of maintenance systems and strategies, with Lean principles being desirable
  • Understanding of Health & Safety, with IOSH qualifications being desirable
  • Multi or cross-skilled training is a desirable asset.
