We are currently recruiting for a Washroom Operative for our client, based in Livingston. This will be on an initial temp to perm basis.
Role Overview
The Washroom Operative is responsible for the safe handling, cleaning, decontamination, and processing of firefighting protective clothing and related PPE. This role is critical in ensuring garments are returned to service meeting safety, hygiene, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities

Receive, sort, and identify incoming firefighting garments and PPE.

Follow strict decontamination and washing procedures in line with company and industry standards.

Operate industrial washing, drying, and finishing equipment safely and efficiently.

Inspect garments for visible damage, contamination, or wear and report findings.

Adhere to health & safety procedures, including correct use of PPE.

Maintain accurate processing records and tagging systems.
-
Ensure work areas are kept clean, organised, and compliant with hygiene standards.

Assist with loading, unloading, and storage of garments.

Support stock control of detergents, chemicals, and consumables.

Work collaboratively with inspection and repair teams to ensure smooth workflow.
