Finishing Assistant – Printing

We are currently looking for 5 x Finishing Assistants for our client based in Aylesford. This will be on a 3-week rotational shift pattern (6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm & 10pm-6am – candidates will be required to work all three shifts on the rotation)

You will be working as part of a team at our client’s site in Aylesford and the days are Monday to Friday – training is provided.

The successful applicant will ideally have experience of working within a manufacturing environment, preferably one which involved packaging and or greetings card production, however this is not essential as full training will be provided. Applicant must be willing to work on a rotational shift pattern which includes nights.

This is a temp to perm position.

You will receive the following rate per hour (PAYE):
Monday to Friday – £9.50ph – Once on clients books the rate goes up to £10.24ph

Main Responsibilities:

  • Stripping and Strapping of Pallets
  • Flat-packing
  • Machine Feeding, Box Making and Packing
  • Overlooking
  • Palletisation of Outers
  • Obtaining components necessary for the production of required work
  • Undertake all necessary admin including using relevant IT and paper based systems
  • General housekeeping including tidying up of the department
  • Any other duties as instructed by the machine operators

  • Ability to prioritise multiple tasks and work under strict timescales

We are currently looking for 2 x Finishing Minders for our client based in Aylesford. This will be on a 3-week rotational shift pattern (6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm & 10pm-6am – candidates will be required to work all three shifts on the rotation)

The successful applicant will be experienced in the operation of various folding and gluing machines, and be capable of producing high quality packaging work. Must be willing to work on a rotational shift pattern which includes nights.

This is a temp to perm position.

You will receive the following rate per hour (PAYE):
Monday to Friday – £9.50ph – Once on clients books the rate goes up to £14.16ph

Main Responsibilities:

  • Producing finished cartons of various complexity, styles and material types and thicknesses, up to and including corrugated, across a range of equipment, both efficiently and to a high degree of quality
  • General machine maintenance
  • Advising Team Leader(s) of any consumable stock requirements
  • Ensuring machine crew are aware of their duties and are monitored accordingly

Weekend Lithographic Print or Print Assistant – Weekend Shift

We are currently looking for a Lithographic Print or Print Assistant for our client based in Aylesford. This will be every weekend working Friday, Saturday & Sunday 6am to 6pm.

You will be working as part of a team at our client’s site in Aylesford. Training is provided.

The successful applicant will ideally have experience of working within a printing company which operates large multi-colour offset printing machines, however this is not essential as full training will be provided.

This is a temp to perm position.

You will receive the following rate per hour (PAYE):
Monday to Friday – £9.50ph – Once on clients books the rate goes up (Weekend Print – Fri £14ph & Sat / Sun £16.80ph and Weekend Assistant Fri £10.25ph and Sat / Sun £12.30ph)

Main Responsibilities:

  • Locating/clearing away of materials, job bags, inks and plates required for specific jobs to/from print machine by means of hand operated and electric pallet trucks
  • Assist with wash up on printing press as required
  • Provide feeder-end cover for machine operators during periods of absence or as otherwise directed
  • Strip down pallet wrappings and use binding machine to dispose of correctly
  • Prepare material as directed by the operators or Print Manager
  • Utilisation of the pile-turner(s) where necessary to assist with material preparation
  • Completion of administration, including using IMS systems as necessary
  • Empty bins of waste into compactor / open top bins
  • Removal of chemical waste for collection
  • General housekeeping including tidying up of the department
  • Any other duties as request the machine operators or a member of the management team
