Our client, a social housing provider in Rochdale is recruiting for a Housing Support Worker to work with those facing homelessness.

Responsibilities of the Housing Support Worker include:

  • Managing a caseload of homeless clients
  • Liaising with Local Authorities housing teams surrounding new applications
  • Supporting in the maintenance of the client waiting list
  • Assessing new clients support needs
  • Ensuring clients understand, and abide by their tenancy agreements
  • Enabling clients to access employment, education and training opportunities
  • Safeguarding clients and reporting any concerns
  • Monitoring tenants rent accounts and supporting them to maximise their income
  • Promoting clients to live independently and build lasting life skills

Essential criteria of the Housing Support Worker include:

  • Enhanced DBS
  • Experience within a similar supported living environment

Hostel Manager

Hamilton Woods Associates are currently recruiting for a Hostel Manager to work within supported housing for a charity in Bradford. The role will require working flexibly, 35 hours a week between 9am-6:30pm Monday – Friday.

The post holder will manage a service that supports males facing homelessness and rough sleeping.

Responsibilities of the Hostel Manager:

  • Ensuring effective management of the service
  • Overseeing efficient collection of rent and monitoring of voids
  • Taking appropriate and prompt steps to address problems in performance management
  • Maintaining and developing service risk assessments, policies, and procedures
  • Monitoring service standards and quality within the project and ensuring that staff are focused on key performance indicators
  • Managing the projects’ rotas to ensure the projects are adequately covered at all times
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory obligations, including health & safety
  • Developing and maintaining links with key partners and external agencies
  • Liaising with referral agencies to provide effective services and ensure effective inter-departmental communications
  • Ensuring central areas of buildings are cleaned and maintained to a high standard
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory obligations such as Health & Safety, Fire and other statutory regulations including implementation and adherence to the association’s policies and procedures

Requirements of the Hostel Manager include:

  • Previous experience working within a similar environment
  • Enhanced DBS
