General Factory Operative – Accrington

Major Recruitment are looking for Factory Operative to join our successful client based in Accrington

We are looking to recruit a General Factory Operative to join their busy team in a friendly working environment. Perfect candidate will be working in a fast paced production environment and will be required to work anywhere in the production area. Duties including (but not limited to) collecting from the machine, stripping, restacking, gluing, stitching, hand assembly, packing and cleaning. Client is providing training to operate machine. All staff must work according to relevant policies and procedures on the factory floor and on the site.

Main duties:

  • Palletising each order to the correct specifications, all pallets must be stacked neatly and in accordance with provided specifications and must be safe to move around the production area
  • Moving palletised product as required using hand operated pallet trucks (PPT manual and electric)
  • Loading and feeding corrugated sheets on automated lines
  • Hand working of product (including sorting, re-packing and assembling
  • Gluing and stitching product as required
  • Quality checking of the product manufactured according to specifications, including bundle counting
  • Assisting with all cleaning and operation of the machines and surrounding areas
  • Reporting any issues to the supervision/management team
  • Completing all necessary paperwork as directed
  • Wearing PPE provided at all times

Successful candidate will need to complete online induction prior to starting work.

Shift Pattern:

– Day shift

– Monday – Thursday 7am – 4pm

– Friday 7am – 2pm

Pay rate:

– £10.42ph

Requirements:

– Willingness to undergo Hygiene, Health and Safety training

– Ability to work as part of a team in a fast paced environment

– Good communication skills and ability to work to instructions

– Good level of spoken and written English

– Previous experience in production environment

– Safety shoes and hi-vis

Overall purpose of a Production Operative:

Production Operators are required to carry out Seat Assembly work on a semi-automated production line using a variety of hand held tools such as air tools, spray guns and hog ring tools, in order to meet production targets in accordance with quality standards. Operators are required to work shifts. Full flexibility is required with regard to shifts and working times.

Main Responsibilities

  • Working as part of a team performing a number of operations in the assembly of automotive seats

Shift Patterns:

  • Days: 7.00am – 3:15pm or 6.45am – 3.00pm
    Lates: 4.20pm – 00.35am or 4.35pm – 00.50am

Previous experience within a similar role is desirable however not essential as a thorough training plan is provided, you must have a strong work ethic and be willing to learn and implement a variety of new skills.
