About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Tender Engineer to join our clients growing team in Glasgow.

This is an exciting opportunity for an engineering professional with experience in complex panel builds, modular assemblies or engineered systems who enjoys working at the intersection of technical engineering, commercial tendering and project delivery.

You’ll play a key role in developing accurate and competitive technical and commercial tenders, working closely with sales, engineering, operations and suppliers to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to the sales team during the early stages of customer opportunities.
  • Review customer enquiries, specifications, drawings and commercial documentation.
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates, quotations and delivery schedules for complex system builds.
  • Develop build estimates including labour, materials, subcontract operations and manufacturing requirements.
  • Assess production capacity to ensure delivery commitments can be achieved.
  • Liaise with suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and delivery for subcontract services.
  • Work collaboratively with engineering teams on technical design considerations.
  • Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BoMs), routings and manufacturing structures within the ERP system.
  • Raise and maintain new stock codes where required.
  • Review customer purchase orders to ensure alignment with submitted quotations and identify any commercial or technical variations.
  • Support engineered solutions where design input is required.
  • Monitor project milestones and provide regular progress updates to stakeholders.
  • Work with project managers and cross-functional teams to manage project risks, dependencies and delivery schedules.
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of the system build offering and tendering processes.
  • Ensure successful project handover to manufacturing, commissioning and operations teams.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams across multiple locations to support successful project delivery.

What We’re Looking For

Essential

  • HNC, HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Management or a related discipline, or significant relevant industry experience.
  • Experience preparing technical and commercial tenders for complex engineered systems, panel builds or modular assemblies.
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of manufacturing or assembly environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and Bills of Materials (BoMs).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.

Desirable

  • Experience within the oil & gas, petrochemical, energy or power generation sectors.
  • Full project lifecycle experience, from concept and design through manufacture, commissioning and handover.
  • Experience leading or coordinating cross-functional engineering or project teams.

Are you an experienced Customer Service Advisor with a background in internal sales or customer support? Do you enjoy building strong customer relationships, solving problems and delivering excellent service?

We’re looking for a motivated and organised individual to join our clients busy Customer Service team in Glasgow. You’ll play a key role in supporting customers from enquiry through to order fulfilment, ensuring a smooth and professional experience while working closely with colleagues across sales, engineering and operations.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Responding to customer enquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Preparing accurate quotations in line with agreed pricing structures.
  • Processing customer orders using the ERP system.
  • Reviewing orders to ensure all customer requirements can be fulfilled.
  • Keeping customers updated on delivery schedules and any changes.
  • Providing advice on suitable products, alternatives and new product ranges.
  • Liaising with internal departments to ensure product availability and on-time delivery.
  • Supporting customers with technical queries by working alongside the engineering team where required.
  • Delivering a high standard of after-sales support.
  • Building long-term relationships with customers through excellent service.
  • Working towards departmental objectives and maintaining compliance with company quality and health & safety procedures.

What We’re Looking For

Essential

  • Previous experience in a Customer Service, Internal Sales or Sales Support role.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong administration and organisational skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience using an ERP system.
  • A positive, proactive approach with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths.

Desirable

  • NVQ/SVQ Level 2 or 3 in Customer Service.
  • Experience within an engineering, manufacturing, industrial or technical environment.
  • Knowledge of engineering or industrial products.
