Major Technical are working with their fantastic fire safety client based in West Yorkshire assisting them in finding their next new engineer for the business due to company growth.

Our client is looking for a fully skilled and experienced fire alarm engineer to BAFE standards.

Ideally candidates will be based in the Greater Manchester area as they will be covering clients and contracts in that area.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Installation, commissioning and fault finding of fire alarm systems ideally Notifier Gents and Advanced systems.
  • Some preventative maintenance servicing as required
  • Some travel / staying away maybe required
  • Reactive fault call attendance as required
  • Callout standby rota (1 in 8)
  • Covering the West Yorkshire region

Qualifications and Skills

  • Previous experience in similar position
  • Knowledge of conventional and addressable fire alarm systems
  • Electrical Installations BS7671:2008 17th / 18th Edition

Working Monday to Friday 05 to 07 am starts, overtime and weekend available

You will be driving HGV class 2 truck with curtains, helping loading and unloading when required, pulling curtains and securing the loads, all stock on pallets – mostly you will get load unload on the sites, however there can be occasion when you will use pump truck.

You will make sure all paperwork is signed and cargo is checked,

You will report any delays, or issues with collection/ deliveries back to transport office.

You will check your truck before leaving every day and when you back.

We’re hiring a Technical Lead (Electrical Bias) to provide high-level support, guidance, and coordination for our client’s nationwide service engineering team. This is a predominantly office-based role at our Rochdale HQ, with occasional travel to customer sites.

You’ll bring your electrical and mechanical expertise to coach engineers, support quoting and diagnostics, and take a hands-on approach to improving the quality and consistency of our service operations – without being out on the road every day.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Provide advanced technical support (electrical/hydraulic/mechanical) to internal engineers and clients

  • Coach and supervise our field-based service engineering team

  • Support quoting, job scoping and remedial work plans alongside the Head of Service

  • Use service management software (BigChange) for job scheduling and task tracking

  • Maintain stock levels, coordinate parts, and support on technical procurement

  • Assist with training, quality assurance and service standards

What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong background in electrical engineering, ideally in service, maintenance, or industrial equipment

  • Experience supporting or supervising engineers (team lead or senior engineer level)

  • Confident communicator – able to liaise with both engineers and clients effectively

  • Knowledge of hydraulic and mechanical systems is a big plus

  • Computer literate (Excel, Word, ideally some experience with SAGE or service software)

  • Organised, proactive, and ready to lead by example

  • A proactive, self-sufficient approach to engineering tasks

  • Experience with recycling machinery (desirable, but not essential)
